Beautiful and relaxing
We had a wonderful time at Moon Dance Cottage. The lake is beautiful and steps away from the cottage. The fire pit was where we spent our time in the evenings, laughing and reminiscing about days gone by. It was just a short drive to things we wanted to do locally. Clean, comfy and relaxing. Our Stay
Everything was really nice. The only thing that could have been better is the kitchen. The dishes were really dated and worn. There was only one sheet pan and had to borrow a few from neighbors. We ran out of trash bags as well. Other than that the house was great.

Well appointed lake house
It was too chilly to swim or SUP but the lake house is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Fully stocked, lots of resources provided for things to do in the area. We had a great time!

Seems like it was everything you expected. Sorry for the polar vortex that swooped down and hung out for whole your weekend. Unfortunately we have no control over that. Next week is supposed to be 40-60 degrees every day!!

Fantastic!
We stayed with our adult children and our parents - the house was perfect!! Everyone had their own space. Both the indoor and outdoor areas were wonderful spaces to gather and enjoy family time! Close to do many beautiful things to do and see! The owners were responsive and great to work with. We are hoping to come back in the summertime to enjoy the dock and get into the lake!

Perfect Thanksgiving by the lake!
We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving here. The view was beautiful. We enjoyed the kayaks and only one of us fell into the lake! We hope to come again in the summer.

Awesome vacation!

Family Wedding
The property was very nice. Had a very cottage feeling and was very relaxing. The driveway down to the house took a little getting used to as it's fairly steep but once we got used to it it was fine. We really enjoyed the decks looking out over the water and the kayaking.

Golf getaway
A serene and peaceful lakeside cottage. The moon dance is aptly named. We watched a harvest moon arc overhead as its reflection shimmered on the smooth glass like surface of lake Avalon. Comfortable and inviting furnishings were abundant both inside and outside. No one wanted to leave.

4 Generations Getaway
My husband and I traveled from Oregon to Missouri to celebrate our son’s 50th birthday. our great grandkids, ages 6 and 7, our 14 year old grandson and our daughter in law were with us. This lakeside home was simple wonderful! Kevin and Penny have equipped it with everything needed for a pleasant stay.

What a great place to unwind and relax! This peaceful, quiet setting on Lake Avalon allows that and more. Just steps from the water in a quiet, well kept neighborhood and plenty of activities within a short walk or drive of this home away from home. The owners were very nice and available if needed. True vacation spot!
A magical vacation spot, the house was well equipped with everything you would need to make vacation easy. The screened in porch and dock on the lake made for some of our favorite places to be. Trails right up the road to bike. Definitely a place we will want to continue visiting.

Comfortable and Relaxing
Mini vacay for family and friends ages 18 to 85 y.o. While the "older crowd" enjoyed spending time on the spacious screened in porch, the "younger crowd" spent a lot of time on the water and at the fire pit. The home had everything for our group of 7 and everyone had a great time.

Another Great Stay!
This was our second time visiting Moondance Cottage, and once again, it did not disappoint! We spent the majority of our time on the screened porch or the dock enjoying all the birds and the breezes off the lake! It was a quick trip in to Bentonville to hit the farmer's market and there are plenty of stores nearby if you need to stock up. We hope to visit again!

Busy Weekend
Beautiful setting, comfortable beds. Close to all attractions in the area. If I have one negative it is comfort of furniture and better pillows would be a plus. Would be great for a large family gathering. Check out was a breeze. Hosts were easy to work with.

Thank you for your detailed review. About the pillows, we have several thicknesses: 2 on the bed and 2 in the closet so you can mix and match for what you prefer.

LOVED IT!

Great Easter weekend stay.
This home worked better than we expected. This home has two living areas. The adults stayed upstairs and we let the kids stay downstairs with their ever own kitchen. We were traveling with kids ages 16 through 4. The whole setup worked great for us. The dock is where we spent a lot of time. The kids fished and adults just sat and enjoyed some sun and conversation. We did a glow in the dark Easter Egg hunt and this property was amazing for this. Penny also left the kids some craft supplies for making Easter bags. Having a host go beyond made for the best stay. We loved that we could bring our dog with us as well. This house it stocked with everything. Even some condiments left in the refrigerator. We would definitely rent this home again.

The View is Worth the Trip

Comfort with a Magnificent View
What a wonderful property. Very comfortable and roomy. Lots of nice features. But that panoramic view! Looking from the inside of the house, it looks like you could step off either deck into the water, just like the pictures show! It's not quite that close, but almost...just a handful of steps. Comfortable beds. Very quiet neighborhood...except for the occasional sound of the migrating ducks. The owner helpfully provides lots of info on the area & arranged for guest passes to the local amenities. We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience.

Awesome Lake House - Our Second Stay
This place is so nice right on the lake. The upstairs screened porch is wonderful as is the downstairs back deck and the boat dock. Plenty of room for 3 adult couples, and very comfortable. Nice neighborhood, and not very far from Bentonville. Two Thumbs Up ! We'll be back.

Peaceful and relaxing
We enjoyed our stay at the lakehouse. The house has both a screened in porch and a deck. We loved the lake view from the house and the close proximity to the water. Fall is a beautiful time to visit NW Arkansas. We were able to have a nice view of the water and fall foliage. The house is very well furnished and very comfortable. We would certainly go back on a future visit if we were able to book it again.

Bike Fest 2022
We stayed here for Bikes, Blues and BBQ 2022 and it was perfect! The driveway is steep but if you want the lake in your backyard you’re going to have to deal with the hill. The views were totally worth it! Everything we needed to cook and enjoy our stay was provided and we had no issues at all. Thank you for letting us enjoy your property!

Fantastic Stay!
We had a lovely stay for the weekend. The lake was beautiful and the kids enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks that were available to use. We spent our days driving to the attractions in Bentonville (a 25 minute drive south, but on direct route), hiking nearby trails, and relaxing by the lake, and our evenings playing board games. The house was stocked with a lot of amenities we were able to use including extra of everything and all the “gear” we needed (kitchen tools, games, life vests, etc.). I would say one drawback is the lake use fees ($6 if you are asked by the water patrol - we were not but were there on a non-holiday weekend) and the process of getting guest access passes for the lake. Penny was amazing though at helping us to resolve issues and questions and was so kind to manage us while on her own vacation. Price was absolutely right and the house was pleanty large to accommodate a family of 3 plis a family of 5 (four adults and four teenagers).

Me and my Friends stayed for a golf retreat and had a great time.
We stayed here in mid September of 2022 and the accommodations are great. The lake is beautiful and fun to get in. The house has simply anything you could possibly need for a large family or group of people.

Beautiful comfortable lakehouse
Great house with everything laid out nicely. Loved the dock and the lake. Great time watching the dragonflies, fish jumping in the water. There's even a heron that visits the sock. Well-stocked house and loved the floor to ceiling windows on the back of the house. Great views every day. Sofa was comfortable!

Great Vacation!!

Lake vacation
House was roomy and big enough for all. Property on a steep hill into water. No outside games could be enjoyed. Only fishing, swimming, kayak, paddle board.

Wow! This is a lake house. Steep hills hold the lake in. Nothing to do? What about the water basketball? What about the Ping pong table set in the carport? Miles of hiking/biking trails within walking distance. Not many rentals come with kayaks and paddle boards. Steep drive is noted in the info but if the drive way wasn’t steep you’d have to walk down the whole hill to the lake. You cannot expect a full blown resort in one personal property however there are several parks in the vicinity. Please read all of our 5 star reviews.

Exactly What a Vacation Should Be
This home was much roomier that the pictures suggested. There was a lot of room for the kids to play or kick back and relax. It was a very hot week when we were there and the air conditioning kept up very well! The driveway to the home is quite steep, but then it levels off and the walk to the lake is down a very short, gradual path. We all loved having the kayaks and paddleboards to use. It was such a fun and enjoyable place to stay and made our vacation relaxing, just as we were hoping!

Like home away from home, but on a lakefront!
Penny was very friendly and helpful, the house was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable, the A/C works very well which was great being as hot as it’s been! The screened-in porch upstairs gives you a beautiful view of the lake and the house is nicely furnished. They provide 2 kayaks which was great to get out on the lake in the evening and enjoy the beautiful sunset, very peaceful, relaxing, and fun! The driveway is a bit steep but you have plenty of room to turn around so you don’t have to back up the drive. We also fished off the dock, played in the water, and made s’mores over the fire pit. We had a great time with our son and daughter-in-law, daughter and son-in-law, and our 2 grandchildren, had plenty of room, never felt cramped, and our 4 year old grandson never got bored! He enjoyed playing ping pong for the first time as they have a ping pong table under the carport! Great family vacation!!

Lakeview and home just beautiful!
Ours was a trip of 4 decades long girl friends. We wanted a get away that was peaceful, spacious and overlooking beautiful water and this place did not disappoint. The bedrooms, living room, screened in porch, lower living room and access to dock and toys was so fun. Bella Vista and nearby Bentonville offer shops and restaurants that made for good outings. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again, for sure!
