Welcome to Echo Lake Hideaway!
Your Bigfork summer is built around the yard and the lake. Echo Lake Hideaway sits on about 150 feet of Echo Lake frontage with a private dock, and the outdoor space steps down from the house to the water, so you will spend most of your time outside. Downtown Bigfork is about 10 minutes away.
Start the morning with coffee on the deck, where a bar wraps around a big pine under a shade roof, then follow the steps past the playset and fire ring to the beach and the dock for a day of swimming and paddling. Inside, the king bedroom and two queen bedrooms are on the main level, and the lower level family room has twin bunk beds, a couch and a TV for the kids. The main level has one full bathroom with a tub and shower combo, a kitchen with bar seating for four and a table for six, a quiet study and a laundry room, and the upstairs living room has room for everyone to spread out.
In the evening, fire up the grill, gather at the fire ring by the lake when fires are allowed, and watch the light fade over Echo Lake. Rent a boat at the corner of Highway 83 and Echo Lake Road, and stop at the Echo Lake Cafe across the street for breakfast. It is a classic family lake home base, and one you will want to come back to.
Summer
When the snow melts, the Flathead Valley transforms into a playground of lakes, trails, and endless sunshine. Spend your days on Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, where you can enjoy boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, and swimming in crystal-clear waters. Just a short drive away, Glacier National Park beckons with the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road, Lake McDonald, and over 70 incredible day hikes. Closer to home, soak in the charm of downtown Bigfork -- a vibrant hub for local shops, art galleries, award-winning restaurants, and the iconic Bigfork Summer Playhouse. Outdoor lovers can hike the Swan River Nature Trail, explore the Jewel Basin Wilderness Area, cast a line in countless lakes and rivers, or play a round at Eagle Bend Golf Course.
