First the good: The house was very nice with comfortable beds, a big kitchen, and a great hot tub. The space worked great for our family and we had a good stay. That said, lots of problems came up that didn’t ultimately mess up our time, but did create some hassle. Maybe it was just bad luck and if no other reviews raise similar concerns, I’d dismiss this myself and happily stay there again. But if others report similar problems, then I’d stay away. The HVAC set off an alarm when we turned it on, which was scary but ultimately may have been a false alarm. The drain for the bathtub didn’t work. The tub spout didn’t work either, so the shower dripped when the bath was running. Messages didn’t seem to work on the VRBO app so they didn’t get our pre-arrival messages we didn’t get the code to the laundry room when we arrived (it’s only accessible from outside). A notice was taped to the door during our stay citing the property for violating short-term rental laws. The saving grace for all of this was the excellent property manager, who promptly responded to text messages sent directly (not via the app) and dealt with every issue that came up. She sent repair people to fix the issues promptly and kept us updated. This was a great house, so hopefully we just had some bad luck that ultimately didn’t mess up our vacation anyway.
