A bit of history: The Saint-Pierre district is considered the cradle of Bordeaux. It is only natural that this former Gallo-Roman port, which would later become a medieval town, took its name from the patron saint of fishermen. In the 12th century, the harbour was filled in. The ramparts of the walled city were demolished in the 18th century, with the development of the Place de la Bourse. All that remains is the 35-metre-high Cailhau defensive gate and a network of pedestrianised or semi-pedestrianised streets, whose names reflect the neighbourhood’s commercial and artisanal heritage: Rue des Argentiers, Rue des Bahutiers and Rue du Chai des Farines. In the 16th century, the neighbourhood also began to be populated by middle-class families around the Church of Saint-Rémi.
Transport: If you are coming by car, there is a car park (public and pay-and-display) located beneath the Place de la Bourse, 200 metres away.
Public transport: - Tram A (’Place du Palais’ stop) 100 metres from the flat - Trams A, C and D (’Porte de Bourgogne’ stop) 100 metres from the flat
Other notes: - High-quality bed linen, towels and tea towels, as well as a few coffee capsules, tea bags, sugar, salt, pepper and olive oil, are provided, and your bed will be made on arrival. - Free Wi-Fi is available!
On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by the team at Cocoonr, the agency specialising in ‘ready-to-move-in’ rentals, who will be on hand throughout your stay to ensure you make the most of it.
