We enjoyed our short stay immensely; our goal was to relax, enjoy some great company, play some cards, and just tune out the rest of the world. The views are fantastic, including the estuary to the North. Bring binoculars! There is one pair there, and you will want more. Every bird in the PNW was out there in multitudes: Eagles, Osprey, all kinds of seabirds, Great Blue Herons, King Fishers whizzing by, humming birds, all the little birds, Cormorants, ducks, geese, and probably more I am not thinking of. Seals abound, too. The sunrises were beautiful to watch. We did not take the boats out or drop crab pots, though we watched others haul up their bounty. The beach is many stairs down and it is not a walking beach, per se, but a great exploring beach, especially at low tide.
This place has plenty of beds and sleeping areas, mostly in the basement, which was clean, and pretty much only for sleeping. The living space would get quite crowded if every bed was full to capacity.
The deck furniture was dirty/covered in leaves & pine needles from constant wind that weekend, so we couldn't really sit out, though in calmer weather we would love it. We pulled the grill around to the side where the wind would be blocked and enjoyed delicious grilled steak and veggies; a great plus.
The kitchen is well-stocked with all the dish/cook wares, glasses, and cutlery, anyone could need. An abundance of clean towels, too. We always bring our own knives to rentals, since theirs are always dull, so I don't know what their knives are like. There was even some foil to use, which we appreciated since we forgot ours.
This is an older home with older amenities. This didn't bother us in the least, though you may need to know: It isn't fancy and it functions very well.
The hot tub controls are cracked and non-functioning, though the tub itself was warm enough to enjoy in the 45-degree weather. The jets are permanently half on/half off, which is odd, though I enjoyed a long soak out there with a great view.
The washer/dryer were non-functioning; no problem for a 2-day stay, though on the fridge it asks renters to wash and dry the towels and linens they use, and run the dishwasher before leaving. With a $180 cleaning fee, I don't mind putting the towels in the hamper & starting the dishwasher before we leave, though I don't see us doing that much cleaning.
We enjoyed the Geoduck, too. We want to go back to explore more and enjoy this home again!
