„Lovely traditional Lakes coach inn in great setting close to Bassenthwaite although no view of the lake itself. Service was a bit archaic but I’m putting this down to because it felt like everyone was new? The original historic snug bar is the best feature within but it is clear they are more focused on servicing the relatively new restaurant bar area. Free parking and WiFi. Cooked breakfast was fantastic as was dinner … but … why oh why would you feature Nothumbrian sourced ingredients in the ...

„Our stay was absolutely amazing! The spacious, clean, and refurbished room with a super comfortable bed was just what we needed. The full English breakfast had generous portions, and every meal was delicious. The staff were excellent, chatty, welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic! We loved every minute and can't wait to stay again. Highly recommended! 🤩✨“

„We had a great stay. Our hosts were fantastic!“

„It was a great stay with very good Food and very kind staff. We will definitely come back!“

„The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. „Ich würde gerne fünf Sterne geben, aber ich muss einen Stern abziehen für die Qualität des Bettes. Kissen und Decke waren gut, allerdings ist die Matratze ein 215 eine absolut durchgelegene alte Federn-Matratze, bei der auch die zwei zusätzlichen Topper das Ergebnis nur unwesentlich verbessern. Die Lage ist hervorragend, alles mit kurzen Wegen erreichbar und das hauseigene Restaurant liefert Essen auf sehr guten Niveau!“

„This was the best B&B by far I have ever stayed in. The room was spotless and a very comfy bed. The full Cumbrian breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, There was also a good alternative menu aswell. But if you decide to have an evening meal you are in for a real treat. Darryl is a trained Chef and the meals he serves are amazing.“

„Stayed five times, excellent hotel fro a short break away .“

„A very clean and well equipped room - limited parking but perfectly adequate - disappointing lack of breakfast - rice crispies and cormflakes don't do it! Very good dinner and bar facilities“

„die Zimmer waren sauber “

„We had a fantastic stay at The Old Rectory. Our room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was the most comfortable we had in a 3 week tour of the UK! The host, Dave was lovely. So helpful in recommending local sights, and made a wonderful breakfast and coffee in the morning. The location was fantastic as well, Easy to walk to the High Street, beautiful bridge and walking trails, Annan museum, and restaurants etc. Thank you!“

„Das Zimmer war ok für eine Nacht. Wir waren aber froh, als wir wieder weg waren..... Alles in allem ein sehr komisches Hotel “
