« The rustic but luxurious hotel was amazing with nicely-sized room & bath. The patio was large & quiet. Common areas were spacious & food was excellent. The only complaint was the shower which was a continuous dribble of water rather than a stream. »

« My stay was fantastic but I was shocked by the breakfast waiters, they wiped my cup rim clean with a finger in front of me, some rubbed their faces and noses, some hocked back phlegm in a rude way, what a pity they seemed to be completely untrained in basic waiter hygiene, otherwise all great »

« The property is located just outside the town, De Aar, which makes it an excellent overnight option. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable. Availability of lunch and dinner would have been an asset which will eliminate a drive to town. »

« Amazing stay in this semi-desert location! Hospitality was outstanding. We went on 2 breathtaking game drives (1 drive to see the orange river and Namibian mountain range and another sunset drive). The annex room was luxurious, very peaceful. Food was delicious although I would have preferred some karoo lamb for dinner given we were in the northern cape (personal preference. Whatever we did eat was nonetheless tasty). Thanks for an amazing, memorable stay!! »

« Site très bucolique et beau point de vue sur la rivière. Par contre très déçus sur l hébergement. En tout premier lieu , les serviettes de toilettes ne sont pas fournis , c est la première fois que l on fait ce constat ( pour rappel l hébergement à le titre de lodge...) Ensuite la chambre et son minuscule coin cuisine sont omplètement surclassé niveau tarif , vétuste et minimum de confort ...dommage car le coin est joli. »

« Both my fiancé and I love adventures and we have no problem with living under local conditions and circumstances such as in the Kgalagadi like showering with salt water, being some days without WiFi and any other connection to the outside world, etc. But what !Xaus offers is simply a rip-off! Serving greasy pork belly on Christmas Eve with a cold soup as a starter, needing to pay for drinks at lunch and dinner, having no fridge with cold drinks available and no AC in the cottages, being provided...

« according to the owner, they have never been paid by Hotels.com, and therefore could not honour my booking. I had to pay cash or be turned away. my report to Hotels.com has received no response, I can only think this is a scam. either way, I won't use Hotels.com again, ever, and I dont care if it was only 20 dollars. »

« THIS WHOLE THING IS A SCAM!! The new owner of that establishment knew nothing of my booking and I had to find and pay for a night at another establishment which fortunately could accommodate me. The money I paid you did not go to the new owner, but instead they suspect it went to the woman that was running the place before it was sold 4 YEARS AGO!!!! »
