Castleton Farms est un vaste complexe de 550 acres situé au pied des montagnes Blue Ridge et du parc national de Shenandoah. Un sentier pavé de cinq kilomÚtres enjambe la propriété et est parfait pour la marche, le jogging ou le vélo. Visitez la sympathique ménagerie avec des alpagas, des émeus, des chÚvres, des poulets, des cochons, des ùnes, un zÚbre et un zonkey. Peaceful and Joyful Retreat

My husband and I loved our stay at the cottage. First, we arrived after dark entrance into the cottage was easy. When entered the cottage it was truly magical. There was a beautiful Christmas tree. The large beautiful king size bed was decorated for Christmas and the bed was very comfortable. The cottage was warm and comfortable. The scenery was both pristine and fun. We felt as if we were alone on this beautiful piece of land. There were animals in pens that we enjoyed watching goats, a pig and a few different varieties of birds. We were actually not alone and we easily located the host. The host were lovely people who were friendly, informative and helpful. It’s also good to know that while this is a rural area. There is a town with everything you need about 25 minutes away. It was a great stay. I would love to come back to this property.

Such a charming place with a lovely view

We had such a lovely time staying at this cottage. If was beautifully furnished and the view was spectacular. We had our dog with us and she enjoyed being able to hike around the property. I think she was ready to move in. lol Communication with the property people was quite good. This may not be your place if you don't bring food with you or are willing to navigate some seriously rural roads without the help of GPS. I came prepared with directions and we loved traversing the backroads to get to Sperryville and Washington where we found some very tasty fare. We would definitely come back in the future.

Wonderful weekend get away

This was our second stay at Castleton. Just as wonderful as the first. Highly recommend hiking the Hazel River Trail for the closest access to The Park.

Pretty countryside escape

Rock Cottage is as described. It is spacious and well appointed. The bed is very comfortable and we slept well. To know- they are serious about you needing to bring everything to add for cooking, oil, spices etc. this include coffee filters. There are pods but if you are big coffee drinkers you will want to use the pot. The scenery is beautiful and the walking path to the Manor house is well kept for a short explore.

Beautiful location for relaxing getaway

The property was what we expected from online reviews. While we had a couple issues, Connie and Paul were happy to help fix things immediately. As reported, cell service is spotty at best, but Wifi was fine. Great wineries and breweries to enjoy after a day of hiking at Shenandoah National Park. We will be back.

Detailed review- Highly Recommend

The Rock Cottage is perfectly set up for a bridal party to get ready in for a wedding, with multiple makeup tables, plenty of space to hang things, a mirror and stage setup, kitchen and large fridge. We also discovered it was perfect for a romantic getaway. My fiancĂ© and I did a little mini-getaway here in early November. Everything is up to date, the views are stunning, the hot tub was clean, there was a large tub in the bathroom, coffee/tea/cider cups were provided for the Kuerig and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with things you would need to use to cook (pots/pans/blender) and had plenty of wine glasses and coffee cups. The owners worked with us checking in since we were arriving late and couldn’t have been nicer. All of the houses on this farm are more spread out than they seem on the map. It was about a mile from the Rock Cottage to the Hospitality office. The Rock Cottage and Blue Ridge Cottage backup to one another, but we never ran into our neighbors because of the way the houses are set up. I would HIGHLY recommend this cottage and look forward to staying at the meadows again. A couple things we learned along the way for those vacationing here: There is zero Verizon service, but the WiFi worked well. Be prepared to drive a minimum or 15/20 minutes to get to food in any direction. Most wineries/breweries were closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Wonderful getaway!!!

My fiance and I had a wonderful two night stay at the Rock Cottage. It was very relaxing, enjoyed the hot tub. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We saw deer running around the hiking trail and they also came close to the cottage. The Zebra and the Zonkey are adorable. The White Oak Canyon trail lower entrance is about 35 minutes away. We walked to the first waterfall about 1.3 mile away from the parking lot. Will love to come back!!!

Can’t wait to return!

Perfect long weekend trip for our family! We stayed at Rock Cottage with our toddler, 6 year old, and 8 year old. It was an ideal size and location for us! Connie was kind enough to have comfortable twin sized beds delivered to the cottage and ready for our girls to sleep on. The cottage was extremely clean, stocked with many more supplies than I expected (Dawn, new sponge, paper towels, toilet paper), and was in excellent condition. The kitchen had great appliances (Bosch dishwasher for example) and all were spotlessly clean. The pots and pans were quality pieces in various sizes (look in oven drawer to find larger sized pans). The cottage appears to have been freshly painted, and the living room and bedroom furniture are clearly new. We enjoyed the private hot tub, fire pit for s’mores at sunset, the rowboats at the pond, and the tennis courts. The indoor pool house was a huge hit! It was nice to have towels provided. The pool house was clean, and we were the only ones there during all 3 of our visits! The children had a great time visiting all the animals. The zebra was friendly and walked right up to the fence. The animals appear quite happy and in healthy environments. This was pleasing to see. The entire property had gorgeous landscaping, plants, and flowers. Everything felt like it had an extra touch of beauty and a special touch. For example, my daughters had a day of virtual school at the cottage. They comfortably sat at the desks/vanities and had a gorgeous view of the farm. The flowers in front of the cottage attracted hummingbirds and butterflies...great company for virtual school. Although the WiFi worked well, our cell service wasn’t great.

Worth the money

It was certainly worth the money, full kitchen, coffee, laundry room, hot tub, and the grounds have amenities like tennis courts, walking paths etc. I’ve already recommended it to a friend that wants to do a long weekend in VA wine country

Quiet, cute and quant

My husband and I came to the Rock Cottage for a quick getaway during the pandemic. Bringing our dogs was a big plus. The cottage was super clean, well supplied and on a beautiful property. The property is well separated so felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We spent time at Shenandoah National Park, Luray and even walked about exploring the property. Thank you Castleton and Connie for a great stay!

Perfect romantic weekend getaway for two

My husband and I were looking for a last minute getaway for Memorial Day weekend during this time of COVID and fortuitously came across this wonderful property. It was perfect for what we needed - pristinely clean, comfortable, romantic, easy and located on the most stunning property filled with ponds, exotic animals, tennis courts and miles of walking trails . Beautiful property!

We rented the Rock Cottage for a week to relax and escape NYC. The Castleton Meadows grounds are beautiful. The cottage was clean, but there were some bugs that became a nuisance by the end of the week. Overall it was supplied with the essentials to easily settle in during our stay.

Great Weekend Getaway!

Everything you would want to get away from the hustle of everyday life. Romantic setting and lots of walking trails. Management was a delight and very accommodating. Private hot tub and full kitchen stocked with tea and kcups was a pleasant surprise. Little country store down the road had excellent breakfast sandwiches, homemade desserts and fresh bacon. So close to several wineries and antique shops. I will definitely stay here again!
