Lovely Huge apartment

The apartment is exactly as described and how it looks in the pictures. The apartment is large with plenty of rooms and space. The location is great, just a couple of blocks from the Duomo and the main square. Plenty of great restaurants within a couple of blocks. Massimo's daughter Ambra was there to meet us at the apartment to tell us everything we needed to know. She was great and her english was excellent.

A spacious apartment in the center of Catania

This is a very nice, clean and spacious property with a very convenient location. The owner was very accommodating to our needs. Normally, check-in is in the afternoon but our plane was arriving at 7 in the morning and we were able to check in early. The owner helped us with directions and met us in the apartment and helped us orient ourselves. We really enjoyed our stay.

Friendly, helpful owner

We love the location and the apartment. Massimo was friendly and helpful. The only downside to us was there was nowhere to put our clothing and stuff. I assume Massimo lives there when not renting so every drawer and closet was being used by him.

Well decorated and well equipped apartment close to Duomo Piazza

This is a beautifully decorated apartment and it provided comfortable accommodations for four older adults. Since the owner lives in the apartment when it is not rented out, it is very well equipped with cooking utensils. The owner was very responsive to our requests when we had issues with the water. The renter should be aware that there are a lot of steps to climb in order to gain access, and there is no elevator. Very conveniently located near restaurants, shopping and sightseeing.

Perfect place

Our host Massimo was quick to respond with answers to our questions or requests. He recommended great restaurants and we enjoyed our dining experiences. The location of this property is perfect, just steps away from coffee and pastries, gelato, fresh fruit or a complete meal. We also enjoyed the sights and sounds of this historic area. Wonderful Catania apartment!

The apartment is spacious and allowed our family of four adults to spread out during our stay. It is clean and very well equipped--and was or is clearly somewhere the owner himself stays. It has an excellent location for exploring the main sites of interest in Catania. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend the apartment highly!

Really enjoyed our stay at Amber's House! Only small issue was parking but everywhere in Sicily city centers parking is pretty hard to find. Great host! and great amenities!!

Fantastic locations w all the amenities

Wonderful apartment. Host was tremendously gracious. Picked us up at airport and provided us with a map and identified all key tourist sites. Apartment is a few blocks from main plazas, large open air market, etc in the heart of old Catania. Easy to walk the neighborhoods or use taxis and trains to get around. Don’t recommend a rental car. Parking is too limited in crowded in the old city. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities for an extended stay. If you want to experience the local population, this is one way to do it! 5 stars for Sure.

We had a good experience at this roomy, clean, well-located, place. It was convenient to major attractions within walking distance. Amber was super in orienting us to the place. I recommend this to anyone for a pleasant stay in Catania!

Great place to stay in Old Town Catania

We enjoyed being in Old Town because we did not have a car. We were able to walk everywhere. Massimo was a great host before we ever arrived helping to answer our questions and with transportation. He arranged for us to be picked up at airport and same person took us to Central bus station when we left. We took 2 tours out of city that were convenient to catch because we were so centrally located. Massimo is a very caring host and wants to make sure you enjoy your stay. He met us when we arrived and showed us everything about his home. Kitchen has everything you would need to cook a meal. There is a huge living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen and fully equipped kitchen. Was glad to have washer. There are bars and restaurants close by, especially with Fish Market so close to apartment. Make sure to go to Bar Mazzini around corner from apartment. It was easy to walk to many sights in Catania. You can’t go wrong staying at Amber’s House with host Massimo.

Easy walk to so much in Catania

Our host, Massimo was very organized and attentive to our needs. He met us when we arrived and familiarized us with the particulars of the apartment. We were thankful for the fresh fruit, cold drinking water, coffee and toast that he provided for us! We were able to contact him with any questions and received instant replies. The apartment is so convenient to many piazzas. We loved to take off and explore the city and found it convenient to cafes for various meals. Parking nearby was very difficult. And we felt very safe but the neighborhood is in need

Great apartment

The reason for the ratings has everything to do with parking and ability to find the apartment. The apartment itself was well described. Very large with plenty of room to spread out. Well lived in with everything you need to cook your own meals. The problem is if you have your own car be prepared. It is very difficult to find parking on the street in front of apartment. Our car was hit twice causing us to have to find a car dealer to repair it. I am sure we will have to pay when we turn the rental car in. We got cussed out for parking in a spot that was on the street in front so we ended up parking away from the apartment and walking there at night. Catania is very crowded and this place is right in the middle of town. If you are planning to just stay In Catania without a car I would give it 5 stars.

Experience the heart and soul of Catania!

Catania is a wonderful city and our visit to the old town did not disappoint. If you want to be in the heart of the city and fully experience the people and places of Catania, I highly recommend a stay at Amber's House. The home is beautifully appointed and centrally located in a safe and charming neighborhood. The neighborhood is welcoming and full of activity. At Amber's House, you are only steps from the daily open-air market, an experience all to itself - fresh fish of all kinds, as well as beautiful fruits and vegetables. In the same location, you will find an abundance of wonderful restaurants and plenty of nightlife. Our host, Massimo, was outstanding! He responded immediately to every question and need. Massimo went above and beyond by meeting us at the airport and leading us to the property on his motorcycle. He was concerned we would have trouble navigating the city due to a large festival that had caused many street closures. Amber's House had everything we needed - including a great coffeemaker, hairdryer, and washing machine. This property is also someone's home which, for us, was an added bonus. I highly recommend Amber's House and look forward to returning on our next visit to Catania!
