Darlene was wonderful in getting us settled in. Ambiance was nice and quiet. Loved the hot tub and the fresh eggs. We also grilled out for dinner and it was so simple. Check out was a breeze.
While this has so much going for it -- sheer curtains that everyone can see through and a rooster that starts going at 3:30 in the morning right outside your window ruin it all...
We were only in town for the weekend and place left us wanting more. Quant little spot thatâs got plenty to do nearby (Madrid, Santa Fe). Whichever airport you fly into will force you to drive the Turquoise Trail to get here and will treat you to the beautiful New Mexico landscape. FYI, there is another house nearby on the property which can be confusing if you first get in after dark, but this property is detached.
The Casita was the perfect stay for the first night of our road trip. The hot tub was the best way end to a long day on the road. We arrived in the dark but awoke to the beautiful hills the property is located within and the wonderful areas to relax in before heading to our next destination. Definitely want to return and stay for a few days.
Poor cleanliness. Poor water filtration. Lack of dishes and cleaning materials. Lack of basic towels, cloths and sanitation. Bed and linens covered in animal hair and dander. No place to put luggage or unpack clothes. No place to hang clothes. Bathroom and shower unsanitary and subpar. Basically a miserable place to stay. VERY DISAPPOINTED in VRBO. Our previous stays in Arizona were never a problem. Guess this differs from state to state.
The property was easy to find and was rustic as advertised. However, there was absolutely NO food for breakfast as promised in the description. And the kitchen was very poorly equipped. We also could not connect to the WiFi, there was no cell phone service, and the owners were nowhere to be found, The entire time of our stay and we couldn't call them to ask how to get on the WiFi. So, if there had been any problems, we would have had no way to contact anyone.I would not stay here again because of the poor communication and what was promised in the description was not provided with no explanation.
We very much enjoyed our one night stay here in the casita. It is super cute and cool and the location is amazing. The bed is very comfortable and the porch out front is great for relaxing. It is a bit more rustic than we expected from the listing but certainly no dealbreakers! Thanks so much for hosting us.
A bit eccentric but heck itâs NM and we were traveling through looking for an authentic experience and youâll find it here. Hosts were super nice and easy going.
I loved the adventure of staying in an old adobe building using the wood burning stove to heat (the heated mattress pad helped too). Coffee is made on the stove, the old fashioned way.Unfortunately the internet was out when we arrived and without cell service we were forced to go to a nearby town (Madrid) to connect with the people we were working with. It did come back on later, but was off and on. This put my husband in a foul mood, but I take responsibility for this as the hosts are very clear about this being a place to cut yourself off from the world, and I didnât prepare him for this. Just make sure you donât have any critical communication needs during your stay. The included breakfast fixings were kind of lackingâŠ. Some eggs, a little milk/cream and a few pieces of what looked like old fruit were in the fridge. Overall, I enjoyed the place but think of it like you might a camping trip, where you are there to experience the unique surroundings and slower pace of life.
Wonderful spot outside of Sante Fe that has an artsy, eclectic vibe. I would recommend checking in before dark as it a bit hard to navigate otherwise. We love Mr. Darcy!
The house was cute and cozy. The front door could use some additional available covering for privacy. I live in a RV full time so i use the RV toilet paper which breaks down in water and is super easy on septic systems. Something you might look into, we were not too keen on putting toilet paper waste into the trash can next to the toilet. But overall a good experience!!
The property was not a good fit for us so we were not able to stay for our 2 night reservation. We notified the owner when we saw the property was not going to work out for us. We did not mind paying for one night but did not feel like a refund for the second night was not an unreasonable request which the owner denied.
The property is very pretty and the views remarkable as stated in description. The walkways are mainly gravel for those who might have challenges with uneven surfaces. That was the main reason we could not stay as we felt that would be an issue with us,especially in the evening and the lack of lighting on the path to the gardens and hot tub.
Originally we wanted to stay in Santa Fe and were a bit reluctant to stay outside of town. However we wanted to also try something new. That decision was the best thing we could have done.
This little place and the property are absolutely perfect. We ended up staying near there than we did Santa Fe. I know for a fact we will be back.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Adobe Casita. The space was perfect for a one-night respite on our way to and on our way back from Prescott, AZ. We enjoyed walking around the property with our dog checking out the chicken coop and orchard. The town nearby, Madrid, was awesome also. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips!
This property is incredible and relaxing. The gardens, patios, and views are beautifully enticing. The well appointed casita is comfortable and creatively decorated. The hot tub is perfect for enjoying the night air and starry skies. Will definitely try to stay here again when the opportunity arrises.
