„It was our second stay and ist was as good as we remembered: nice room, helpful host (thanks for the short walk with all the little waterfalls) and the best cooked breakfast we ever had 😋“

„Beautiful location. Great breakfast.“

„Excellent scenic location next to the river. Amazing breakfast choices. Evening meals were always very good and sometimes exceptional. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would hope to return.“

„Great welcome easy check in and friendly team 😁. We arrived late after a long drive - the venue is an old pub with rooms. We navigated our way to the top floor room. As we arrived Halloween weekend we thought the dust and cobwebs in the room were part of the theme. 👻 The carpet around the bed and doors hadn’t been hoovered for months. „I was in a single room, basic but clean. The hotel does need a refresh, and that is planned for next year. There is a gym guests can use, and spa treatments are also available (payable) in the Serenity Suite, a separate business on site. Staff were welcoming and very helpful.“

„We had a very enjoyable stay. Ann & Baratt were great hosts. Good location for visiting Monmouth.“

„Loved this spot! Even without the AC! Such a good overnight spot“

„Beautiful house gardens and surrounding.the rooms are sympathetically restored with stylish interiors.comfy bed and good shower and great breakfast“

„Fantastic hotel and pub, very cosy and set in a fab location. The room we stayed in was delightful, very large with great amenities. Food was very tasty and the breakfast was plentiful and hot with a good variety of continental and hot breakfast items to choose from (full English including veggie option). Great to have onsite parking too. Will definitely be back thanks!“

„All the staff went over an above to make our stay really relaxing and enjoyable. Nothing was to much trouble. Good ol fashioned service, for us it has set the benchmark that others will be judged by.“

„Wunderschöner Garten mit Springbrunnen und Teich ABER DIREKT an der Autobahn. Großartiges Frühstück“

„Irgendwie hat alles gestimmt: das Zimmer, die Stimmung, der Service. Hat nur drei Sterne aber ich war in viel schlechteren "4*-"Häusern“

„A lovely stay at The Speech House. A beautiful setting, comfortable room and a warm welcome. Perfect for a one-night stopover and a great base for exploring the Forest of Dean. Would happily stay again!“
