Die Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber. Die Einrichtung ist nicht mehr ganz aktuell, aber das Motel liegt gut und die Ausstattung ist dem Preis angemessen. Nette kleine Mall gegenüber (u.a. mit sehr gutem japanischen Restaurant).

Lights over the bed are too low, if you want to sit up and read in bed near your nightstand, you will hit your head. Cold, laminate flooring, no carpeting. Would have brought my slippers had I known.

We only stayed 1 night, the check in was easy it took less than 5 minutes. We arrived a few hours prior to stated check in time and they checked s in and gave us key to our room no questions asked. The room is large with a small attached room with counter, chair, and coffe maker. There is a Sushi place across the street, A dairy queen,dunkin donuts an a liquor store all within 2 blocks easily in walking distance.

We have stayed at the Cheshire Welcome several times over the last 3 years, and this time was disappointing. There seems to be a high turnover in personnel these days, especially at the front desk. We reserved for a 2 night stay, and when we returned to our room at the end of of the day the first night, our bed had not been touched nor was the trash emptied or the used cups or towels replaced. When we called to ask for cups and towels, a gentleman came with a couple of bath towels, but no cups. I wish I could give a better review because it is a small family owned business, but the all of the rooms are in dire need of a good remodel, too, so much so, we will not be returning.

When i arrived there was a note on the office saying to call a number because the employee was somewhere else "working" meanwhile its freezing and flurrying outside. Finally the man comes so i go back to the office door only to have to wait again in the weather while he is on his cell phone which he continued throughout the majority of our interaction. The room was disgusting to say the least. The sheets were stained and yellowed with 3 beat up pillows that could have been 30 years old on a king size bed. The chrome finished shower head was coveded in black gunk. The phone was sticky and would only work on speaker. The room was freezing when we walked in and it smelled really bad. There were red splatters all over the wall in the bathroom so god only knows what that is. So I told the man at the front desk and he tried to show me another room that was no better. a He then refused to give me a refund stating no one else has had a problem and that it wasn't his decision. His deceit was exposed by the travelosity agent advising the hotel is refusing. He was rude and ignored me multiple times. He also argued that it was not black mold on the shower head because they just passed their inspection. Im not kidding! Luckily i was able to recover half of what i spent from Travelocity but be warned people this place is NOTTTTTT even remotely close to the 8.4 rating. They clearly must have fabricated for themselves. Id say this place is more of a 3 out of 10 if i were to be generous.

I grew up in Cheshire so when I traveled back from SC, I wanted someplace that I was familiar with. So many hotels have become permanent residences and I have felt unsafe due to the conditions and clientele. Not an insult to anyone, but as a woman traveling alone these things are important. I was very pleased with Welcome Inn. The rooms could stand an update, but they were spotless, and the front desk and staff were very helpful. There are options for dining and shopping on RT 10 so it is convenient for shopping.

Very pleasant average property. Quiet, good hot water and hv/ac, comfortable bed. A nice touch is the “ring doorbell”-style door peephole is a nice touch.wi-fi a bit slow. Large flat-screen tv. Freezer and fridge both chilled well. Management is thinking about their guests.Plenty of parking in total, but a spot close to your unit may not be available.

Return Visit, Still Nice
I had stayed at the Cheshire Welcome Inn before, and liked it, so I went back there for an 'overnight' during a long October road trip to New England. As my schedule was a bit uncertain, given stops and drive times, it turned out I arrived around midnight the Saturday night I stayed this time. No worries. The staff at reception was friendly and welcoming, and I checked in quickly. The room was clean and big bed comfy as before, and I liked being able to park my car just outside my front door. Viva vintage motels that have been nicely renovated, like Cheshire Welcome Inn! Was able to get Sunday morning takeout at a nearby McD's (lots of food places around), and return to finish packing and loading my vehicle, between raindrops. Then safely on my way for the final leg home. I once again enjoyed my stay at Cheshire Welcome Inn, Convenient for me on travel to Connecticut. Will return. Thank you!

I have stayed at Cheshire Welcome Inn twice now, and both times, the rooms have been IMMACULATE. I am pretty sure I have never stayed in a hotel that was cleaner than at this place. This is all the more remarkable to me because the property itself is quite dated - I'd guess mid-to-late 1950s - so you would expect some leftover grime after all those years. But no, it seems they clean this place assiduously. The rooms are small and basic, but the mattresses are new and the pillows are soft and comfortable. Overall excellent value for money, especially for Connecticut where hotel rooms (and everything else) run very expensive. It's a few miles away from the major highways, but worth the trip.
