« The house is nicely decorated and was very clean. We only had to get rid of a large number of spiders, but that was due to our arachnophobia. It is a place where one can really calm down and relax and it´s great that dogs are allowed. We enjoyed walking along the coast and down to the "beach" where we saw some quite "dramatic" sunsets. The only downside was, that the 2 lower bedrooms were damp so that we needed to keep dehumidifiers running. But still one of the bedrooms had a quite unpleasant...

« Myself and my 2 children (10 &14) had a lovely stay at Rosie's cottage. The cottage was clean, beds were comfy, everything you need in the kitchen. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch. The swimming pool was a perfect temperature and could be used whenever we wanted. The peacocks in the garden kept my youngest occupied along with the trampoline. The cottage is close enough to Bideford, Westward Ho etc but out of the way in a small village. The hosts were very welcoming and were on hand if...

« Wouldn’t recommend at all. Firstly, the accommodation is based on a camp site which is not made clear on the website. The specific area is ok but all a bit run down. The garden in the pictures is shared between all cottages and despite stating pet friendly has a sign saying “don’t let dogs on grass” So yes dogs can stay in cottages but not sure where else they can go? We arrived and our first cottage absolute stunk of damp. We had to be moved and the second cottage was ok. Definitely not 4*...

The facilities are second to none, it felt like a home from home but in much more beautiful surroundings. Orchard House is very close to all amenities but secluded for peace and tranquility. There was a lovely offering on arrival in the form of a welcome pack, totally unexpected and a treat. The owners were friendly and chatted to members of my family. « Plenty of space for 4 adults. The outside verandah was well used as it was so peaceful and quiet to sit out on. Three toilets to the property was a great advantage. The property is not overlooked. The journey to the property is along narrow lanes but with plenty of routes to choose from. »

« Delightful accommodation with plenty of space to for our three generations and what a location. Had not known about Appledore before we went but its just perfect, would definitely reccomend, from the rockpooling and crabbing opportunities with the kids to wandering down to the Coffee Cabin first thing and simply enjoying the holiday atmosphere and estuary views. We finshed with a meal at the Beaver Inn (book early as its busy)- really nice pub. Oh, and not forgetting the Devonshire ice cream...
