Camped for the night at Colac Bay as per Backpacking Matt's suggestion. This is a beautiful completely unknown spot on the south coast of the south island - beautiful coastline and a great pub and tavern that has rooms and camp sites.

Southland Coastal Gem
Such a beautiful home in a magical spot, modern but comfortable and cozy, so many interesting places nearby especially Gemstone Beach and Howell’s Point Reserve, and Riverton is really charming, we loved our stay
