I had a very concerning experience at this hotel and cannot recommend it.
When I entered the room, I immediately noticed several safety and cleanliness issues. The room was dirty, multiple lights were not functioning, and the deadbolt lock on the door was broken. There was also a strong odor of smoke and what appeared to be drug use in the area. I did not feel it was safe to stay in a room where the door could not be properly secured.
I was in the room for approximately eight minutes to inspect it before returning to the front desk to ask if we could be moved to a different room. I was told there were no other rooms available. Staff assured me that the manager would issue a full refund the next day when they were on duty, so we left and found accommodations elsewhere at the Candlewood Suites.
When I returned the next day to speak with the manager about the promised refund, the situation became very unpleasant. The front desk employee insisted that I had stayed in the room for the entire night, which is simply not true. The manager was present but did not speak with me directly. Instead, I was told I would only receive a small portion back, despite having been assured that both rooms and the deposits would be refunded.
During this interaction, the front desk employee also began discussing my situation with other guests in line and allowed them to mock and berate me while I was trying to resolve the issue. My p
