The check-in experience was great, the clerk notified me that they were working on a water repair and it would be on in just a few minutes.
When we arrived in the room, my wife noticed that there were significant stains in the bathroom, and that the bathroom door was in major disrepair. It barely latched and would not lock.
I notified the staff through the text message that they initiated, and they said the things would be taken care of after our stay. Later that evening, I attempted to take a shower, only find that the hot water was not working.
Staff informed me that it was a result of the waterline repairs from earlier in the day, and that if I let it run long enough that it should get hot. This was not the case. After about 10 minutes, I tried to take a lukewarm shower, only to have the water turn cold halfway through.
I paid what I felt was an above average rate for the class of hotel, only to find that the quality was well below par for the brand. Instead of solutions, I received excuses and delays from staff when I presented concerns. Had I not been catching a flight at 3 AM? The next morning, I would have pushed my concerns a little harder. There are a variety of hotels in the airport complex at CMH, if I fly from there again, I’ll be staying at a different one.
