Where do I start? Let’s start on Tuesday 5days before my trip where I contacted the host to inform them about the hurricane in the gulf and how it may affect the trip, never heard back from anyone until Thursday, and that is because I messaged them again. When I spoke to the representative on the phone I was assured my rental was still good and I am to continue my trip as planned with no remorse regarding the safety of my family. I was told I DO NOT get a refund.
Come Saturday my destination issued a manadatory evacuation in which I did reach out to hosts AGAIN, and was told the same thing that I am to continue my trip as planned even though I’m telling the representative about the evacuation. I was told that an email or text will go out if something changes.
Sunday morning (da of the trip) I reach out again and wait for a response waited hours with no response so I drove to my destination. When I showed up the house was complete disaster!!!
Was not cleaned, all bedding was in balls on floor, there was sand throughout the entire rental, dirty dishes in sink, no toilet paper, no paper towels, no clean bedding or clean towels. They didn’t do anything to prep for my family’s visit. I reached out to the host via text and someone apologized for the non cleaning and said someone should contact me right away. Well the next day comes and it’s late afternoon and no one has reached out, no one has come by the property, so I message again. Please contact me ASAP
