The hotel is small so you can imagine the room .
Its located in a great place, close to Doge palace only 2 to 3 min away .
The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants and shops.
Staff are amazing and helpful.
The only things missing in the room is the coffee machine at least provide heater to make coffee or tea.

The hotel, located in Campo S. Sophia on the grand canal was a 15 minute walk to the train station to the North or 15 minute walk South to Saint Mark’s square. There is a water bus stop located just outside the front door of the hotel as well as water access for water taxies. The room was clean and quiet. We had a slight view of the grand canal from our bathroom. The ceiling was at least 16 feet tall and the decor is what was described as Venetian. There is a nice garden with a sitting area and a view of the grand canal out front of the main entrance to the hotel. The hotel is a nice quiet spot just 200 feet down an ally from the main street. The hotel staff were polite. The continental breakfast had a small variety of items and was perfect to fuel up your morning start your say in Venice !

Hotel is just a stone’s throw away from the church so it was awesome.
Just a little disappointed that we arrived at 5pm and was told we can’t check in yet as there were some hiccups with the previous room etc.

"This our third visit to Excelsior, it is a lovely hotel, with friendly helpful staff, the boat ride into Venice is a real plus. Breakfast is exceptional, nice swimming pool.
