Thanks Christina! Since it was early October and the previous week had 80° weather we hadn’t activated the fireplaces yet for the season. We intentionally leave the dock set in its natural habitat to increase the the authenticity of the lake and bay. I personally love walking the dock because I feel like I’m going down a corridor. Hey Tom, thanks for the feedback. Usually the road noise isn't an issue but with it being one of the busiest weekends of the year, our town was jam packed with people looking to enjoy the lakes area. As for the temperatures, I'm not too sure what you mean by this. The thermostat is located in the living room and is a new Ecobee that is pretty user-friendly. Had you reached out with questions I would've been happy to walk you though it. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise!

Hi Jenn, thanks for taking the time to review! Lady bugs are an issue in northern MN, especially a home in the woods like this….in spring. Our cleaners do vacuum them every time but it really is the kind of thing that needs to be done every day or two. Also, if you would’ve messaged me about cleaning supplies I would’ve pointed out the closet where everything is stored. Come back and visit this summer! :)

Hi Chelle, thank you for taking the time to write a review; we do appreciate the kind words. I've never had anyone mention that there is a shortage of pots and pans since it's a gourmet kitchen that's fully stocked, however it is possible that previous guests took some things. With a group as large as yours I do think it would be wise of us to add additional plates and utensils to make sure there are enough. As for things like toilet paper, we do keep the house stocked. Each bathroom has a couple of extra rolls under the sink at all times. I would've been happy to point that out if you messaged and asked - I'd hate to have someone run out! Hope you enjoyed your family reunion as much as it sounded like you did when we last spoke!

Hi Sam, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for my home. I just wanted to take a minute to point out a few things that you may not have noticed or been aware of. If you would've messaged us during your stay I could've helped point these out: A. April in MN is pretty tricky with weather which you may not be aware of since you're from AZ. As I recall, we had recently had a couple storms that week, as well as recent snow melt which does make the exterior of all properties a bit unsightly. It's why most people wait until May to start doing spring cleanups. B. Yes, our home is on a county road outside of town although the traffic is pretty minimal. We rarely notice cars but I'm sure they do occasionally drive around the lake. C. I've never noticed any switches not working. We do have each switch labeled so I'm not too sure how it would've been confusing. There are a lot of lights in the home and bulbs do burn out on occasion which is why we leave a couple boxes of bulbs above the refrigerator like you found. D. The thermostat setting was my mistake. I had forgot to set it to "Home" mode prior to your arrival. The reason the fireplaces were turned off for the season is precisely what you had noticed and I would've explained if you asked: Running fireplaces in a home in MN during the spring will heat the room they are located in, which is where the thermostat is for the house. This causes the furnace not to run because it thinks the home is warm enough already. In April when it's 45 degrees, it's not cold enough to run fireplaces anymore without this issue which is why we had them turned off. I apologize about that. E. I'm not sure why you had issues with water pressure and temperature. We have a state-of-the-art tankless, on-demand water heater. We've never noticed issues with water pressure or inconsistent heat; my only thought is that it's because the home was vacant for a few weeks while we were out of town. F. I'll check into the towels. We do have iron in the water which does cause some rusting. Occasionally I'll forget to add a bag of salt to the water softener which solves this problem. G. I've considered replacing this sofa, but it seems like a shame because it's so gorgeous and comfortable and fits the decor of the home perfectly. I've found it acceptable to replace the 4 inch broken leg with a small block of wood since it's a rear leg and unnoticeable. I'd hate to throw away such a beautiful piece of furniture because of a small issue. It wouldn't surprise me if my 11yr old, who loves popcorn, was on the sofa and the cleaners had missed it. H. It is a home in the woods, on a lake, so unfortunately it does get a bit dusty when sitting empty for several weeks like it had been. I think we'll make a habit of having cleaners go in one more time prior to someone else checking in if this happens again. Also, thank you for reminding me to follow up with the contractor to finish the minor drywall patching in that bathroom. Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback!
