It was just what we needed for a conference at the Gaylord. Clean, well supplied, and great location. We enjoyed our morning walks around the lake and the hospitality of the host.
As we were visiting Texas for the high school graduation celebrations and ceremonies of two grandkids, I thought I would stay with the theme by pronouncing this perfect cottage valedictorian--first in its class. Richard's home provided us the perfect location, comfortable accommodations and a nice little escape by the lake to recover from all of the celebrating.
We absolutely fell in love with this place. Stayed for a week & could have stayed another. The host, Richard, is truly the best! I read a review of the noise from the planes but we def did NOT experience that. Also, we knew when we booked it, how close we were to DFW. But still, that planes were not an issue. Richard was so quick to respond to any messages. The lake is a short, super short walk. Everything about this place was peaceful & cozy. We are already planning our trip back. Main st was a fun place to walk & see the town. It was so nice to not be cramped up in a hotel for the week. Thanks again Ri hard!
Home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood; plentiful with birds, squirrels and nice shady trees. Many people walk, ride and enjoy the lake nearby. Comfortable bed and easy walk to Gaylord.
Richard was communicative about the property and we had a great time getting away for the weekend. The location was great for the activities we had planned.
We had a nice stay at this property. The outdoor space and access to the lake are wonderful. The host was very responsive and is located next door. You can appreciate the character of this 1950s cabin/house. Having a fire and looking at the lake where the highlights of our January visit.
We loved this place and will come back if we can. I loved that I felt close to nature, even though I could see the Gaylord from afar! We had a view of Lake Grapevine, a nice back patio, mature trees, and privacy! This was a COLD weekend and the heater worked well! House is older but we like that. Lots of character, everything was clean, beds soft, plenty of blankets. We needed one random thing and the owner answered quickly and got it to us! Coffee pot and grains provided, plenty of clean towels, and about a 5 minute drive to downtown Grapevine. We also walked to the Lake and did a few trails!! Only had a few cars pass us on the way there. The neighborhood feels kind of hidden and obviously people donât use it as a shortcut to get around town. I felt safe!
We were very disappointed with our first Vrbo experience. The condition of the property was not as shown in the online pictures and definitely didnât live up to the high standards portrayed by the Vrbo commercials. We had hoped to have a relaxing time but it was so noisy that was hard to do. The fan in the living area was loud. The heater even louder. There was construction going on in the area which was very disruptive and the house is on the flight path to the airport so the airplanes flying overhead was annoying. Not to mention there was someone who literally spent the whole day on Christmas Eve right outside the back door mowing and using a leaf blower. The television was also difficult to watch due to the poor antenna connection. We would not recommend this location if you are looking for a relaxing upscale vacation.
Close to the Gaylord Texan and lake is nice (great for skipping rocks), close to lots of amenities.
A cold front came while there and the heat worked well - although the heat blower is noisy. It's an older cottage, so it's drafty and you can hear the airport noise.
For the price, it's a good option if you need to stay near the Gaylord Texan.
Richard, the host was very kind and close by. The neighborhood is walkable and a short drive to Grapevineâs Main Street for shopping and dining. So close for our convention at the Gaylord. Would totally stay here again!
Peaceful setting, lovely decor. Very comfortable, great location & view of the lake. Especially liked the outdoor deck area. Lots of places to sit and relax.
Great place to stay close to Gaylord Convention Center! It is a cute cottage close to the lake. Richard, the host, was very responsive to our questions! Highly recommend staying here!
Great place to drink coffee and enjoy the lake. The host was friendly and came to replace a light bulb that went out. He also brought us firewood for the firepit. The lights on back patio set a great evening atmosphere. If u have business at the Gaylord it is very convenient or if you are like us and needed a girls wkend at wineries it is perfect and so close to Grapevine Main street. Love the neighborhood- quiet and quaint. Fun people watching as cyclists ride by the lake. Adorable inside and out
I stayed at the cottage, and it was a perfect place for me to relax and spend a bit of time with family in the area. The owner was also very responsive to my questions. Will stay again!
