This property is about a 4 min drive from the centre of the Daylesford action so great locale. It’s a good size with the living area on the ground and the only bedroom upstairs. There is a toilet in the bathroom which is a huge yuk for me although the bathroom does have a spa, albeit somewhat tired looking. This property is positioned as a romantic getaway but I’m not convinced. The champagne glasses in the kitchen are plastic and wasn’t keen to pour my champagne into plastic glasses but had little choice. There is huge termite damage at the bottom of one of the lounge room windows which is a little alarming. Each room has a nice outlook to garden areas which is very pleasing. A fake fire is in the lounging area which would be ok in winter but I think I would prefer a house with a real wood fire. The jet master looks a bit too modern and cold.
With the bedroom upstairs it is odd the bathroom is on the
ground. Made it inconvenient for a bathroom stop in the middle of the night but not a huge issue. The vanity has little to no room to place toiletries in a perm spot which is an issue given the bedroom is upstairs.
The bedroom is nicely appointed with plenty of natural light. The bed was ok comfort wise although availability of a light summer blanket would have been better for summer. Always on our last day of our stays I pull back all the bedding sheets and slips and was creeped out to find old stains on the underlay, mattress and pillows. When I have guests stay in my own home these items are freshly laundered and spotless.
We didn’t make much use of the kitchen. The microwave was unfortunately unusable as there was thick bubbles of fat on the inside roof which was quite horrible.
For us at least, overall I think the flowers left in the lounge and kitchen summed up the attention to detail at this property; wilted and needed a descent refresh.
