Misleading but still ok
Overall the house is a win. The listing is less than accurate and the pictures are outdated. Upon arrival the house seemed very clean but by the end of the second day the pet urine odor was coming through over whatever the cleaners used. Great layout, awesome space, good pool area. Pool needed to be cleaned and there was nothing there for which to give it a once over. Yard was overgrown, fence dilapidated, a lot of low spots so standing water was an issue. Thankfully we changed our minds before coming and left our dog home or that would have been a bigger issue. Outdoor shower was just a shower head stuck on the side of the house, pool area bathroom was out of order and not useable. Grill was filled with some kind of greasy mystery muck, burners rusted away, and filthy everywhere else so we didn’t even try using it. There were multiple other maintenance issues and damages that we gave the owner a heads up about as soon as we checked in so hopefully they’ll be addressed before long. Communication with Peter seemed great, until we needed the pet deposit refunded, something he’d assured me was able to be refunded prior to paying it. This had to be escalated to a couple levels of customer support with VRBO, who instructed him to process the refund about ten days ago, but we’ve yet to actually receive it. All in all it could be a great house, but was disappointing in the end, especially when we found the urine stains on the second king mattress that our kids had been sleeping on.
