  • Détendez-vous et regardez les bateaux entrer dans le Golfe dans cette magnifique unité rénovée avec l'un des meilleurs balcons et vues sur le coucher de soleil à Destin. Luxueusement meublé avec des touches de designer, y compris de nouvelles armoires de cuisine, des comptoirs en granit et des appareils électroménagers en acier inoxydable avec de nombreux ustensiles de cuisine. Unité lumineuse, moderne et inspirée par les décorateurs, idéale pour les grandes familles avec carreaux. Ensemble de lit king côtier en chambre principale avec salle de bain spacieuse avec comptoir en granit et douche à l’italienne. Chambre d'amis unique avec lit double et lits superposés. Salle de bain a des comptoirs en granit et combo baignoire / douche. Beaucoup de sièges confortables dans le salon avec canapé-lit queen canapé-lit. Grand téléviseur HD et DVD dans le salon. Téléviseurs à écran plat dans les deux chambres. La table de la salle à manger a des chaises rembourrées pouvant accueillir six personnes et deux tabourets de bar en cuir sur l’île. Love the views from the balcony. They always have small activities to do. They had movie night this time. The only thing that was a deal breaker was that only one elevator was working, so we had to take the stairs up to the 6th floor. Overall, The Islander always feels like home. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I enjoyed 6 wonderful weeks at The Islander. Our unit was on the west side offering a great view of the gulf and jetty. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the unit and amenities. The location of The Islander in Destin was perfect, just a short walk to the beach, 5-10 min. from numerous choices of dinning, shopping, ect. not to mention a half dozen or so golf courses within 10-30 min. The staff was outstanding, super friendly, they made a point of knowing you, using your name making you feel like family. They were very attentive to any issue from replacing a light bulb to defrosting a freezer always with a smile and pleasant demeanor. We plan to go back next year.

I tried a different Platinum unit and it was gross. Dirt around bath tubes, black stuff in shower, broken stools at the counter, stains on extra blankets, dirty refrigerator, leather ottomans stained from water, no area rug as in the picture so a room full of only tile feels cold and stark and unwelcoming. Furniture is old. Kitchen pans are ancient. I would recommend the Islander but not this unit.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented as a platinum. The stove & dishwasher needs to be updated. The shower in the hall needs switch on shower head replaced. Part of the water comes out of the faucet when shower head is turned on. When we checked in we were told maintenance would be coming in to fix shower door handle. When opened handle fell off. The mattress in master bedroom should be replaced with one that the owner would want to sleep on. Very uncomfortable. We would not rent this room again until updated. We have stayed at the Islander for years.

Not Bad, but Not Great

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo was nice and nicely decorated. The bed in the Master bedroom was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. My husband normally doesn’t sleep well and he said it was the best week of sleep he has ever had. The only issue with this specific unit was that the drawers were dirty and had not been cleaned out so I didn’t feel comfortable unpacking my clothes. As far as the Islander resort, overall it was great, however, I would not choose to stay here again with young children, simply due to the beach setup. The Islander secures only a small space on the beach so their chairs are set up in two crowded horseshoe shapes so it is very difficult to watch your children in the water. I would have to get up and go sit in the sand to watch my children in the water. Had I known, I would have brought our own chairs and umbrella and moved to a different location on the beach where I could have a more relaxing view to watch my children enjoy the Gulf.

Reviewer Comments: The location is great, the elevator closer to the rental desk was Jerry and felt unsafe, the beds in unit 616 were HORRIBLE and hurt our backs to sleep on, there was a hole in the sheetrock in master bath, trash chutes need cleaning, one of the reclining patio chairs is broken and dumped me on the ground and I'm 5'11" 210 lbs. I was sore from that for 2 days. I've been renting at the islander for 26 years and I will not rent that unit again. We opted to leave a day early to avoid having to be in those beds and at $500 a night essentially that tells you something. We arrived Monday evening and left Thursday afternoon instead of Friday

The folks in and around the Islander are especially friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and well appointed. If you intend to visit the nearby restaurants, you will need a car. My only complaint about the Islander is that the grills in the common area would be gas instead of charcoal.
