Alan and Brenda Lockhart planted a vineyard and started making wine in their kitchen about 10 years ago. After Alan started entering wine competitions and winning bronze, silver, gold and double gold awards, it became clear that he had talent; so they began making plans for a winery. Seven years later it came to fruition.

On May 23, 2016 Hartland Winery and Vineyard opened on three acres of land south of Ashley, Indiana. Their mission is to produce "small batches and handcrafted" wines to bring you a unique and pleasing, wider variety of wines that are at their peak of flavor and freshness.

« The house was exactly what we expected—very clean, comfortable, and it smelled great when we arrived. « We were the first ten renters at this property. The house served us well. The 4 separate bedrooms were wonderful. We were there over 4th of July weekend and the town parade was walking distance. We only needed to walk across the street to watch fireworks. The toys for the kids in our group were wonderful. Washer and dryer was handy after being at the lake. The family has many pictures and Bible verses spread around the house. Something we loved! »

« This home was a perfect spot for us when my brother and I and our spouses came to Auburn to visit family for the holidays. The home was very clean and the beds comfortable. Additionally, the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare and enjoy a meal together. Chris was great at communicating and the check-in/out process was really easy. We would highly recommend this property for anyone’s stay. »

« Three friends and myself just wanted to get away for a day and we chose this cabin. We wanted the sample some of the local cuisine and a day away from city life. I would recommend bringing some DVDs! The owner of the property is very close by and if you have any issues, they can be taken care of quickly. This would be a great place for kids, especially in the winter time! I would highly recommend this beautiful log cabin to anyone. »
