« The room we stayed in had mice that ran across our TV. We notified the staff and were told the manager would contact us and we never received a call. The rooms are clearly not maintained well. The property itself is old and falling apart. I do not recommend staying here. »

« The reviews of this place are incredibly polarizing. Some people think it is the worst place they have ever seen. Others think of it as a twee little time capsule, an example of the pocono mountains in their former glory. The truth is a bit in between, though it is, in cat the worst place I have ever stayed. (And I am a sucker for cheap motels) You can see evidence of its former glory. It seems kinda clean, but it is very run down. Whoever runs this place has done a number of shoddy repairs....

« Right after arriving and unpacking, I went for a walk around the area. After a minute, a very polite yellow lab trotted up to my side and gave me a nice tour in exchange for several scritches and pats. 10/10 employee(s). As for the accommodations, it was very comfortable and relaxing without feeling like too much "resort". Will be back! »

« We enjoyed the fact that the property was peaceful and we had a beautiful view of the lake. As for the villa we stayed in, not so great. The furniture was old and outdated. The mattress was very old and uncomfortable. We could not get a good night's sleep because the bed was sinking in from the middle. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES. We were very disappointed, but made the best of what we believed to have over paid for. No disrespect to the staffing of this property, they were friendly....

« I have been around the Lake Wally/Hawley + area for 40yrs (first owning a small summer place on the lake & as a local camp nurse for 20yrs), I always wanted to stay at Settlers--dined there many times--visited the gift shop, even looked into the rooms--finally got the chance--Wonder/Beautiful/Tranquil/Unique!!! »

« The hotel has not been updated, and it would’ve been fine, if it was clean, but it wasn’t. There are stains on the carpet, we found someone else’s sock under the bed, the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were broken and stained, the tub was lined with mold, and the sink looked like it was falling off the wall. As we were checking in, another guest was complaining about it raining in her room (it was raining outside). You also cannot flush the toilet before showering. I will never stay here again. »

« The Staff were extremely kind, The little shop was quaint. The outside surrounding was eh. The room itself was a no thrills room and was tiny. It had new vinyl floors which was nice. But the bathroom was not updated at all. The bed was comfy. And the heat worked great, it got cold the night i stayed. »

The inn is nicely appointed. We do enjoy the charm of an old historic dwelling and the antique furnishings. Adrienne is friendly and hospitable. »

« Fantastic all inclusive stay! Breathtaking views, accommodating staff, clean and stocked! Full kitchen, we had no problem making meals and washing dishes in the dishwasher. Clean linens, extra linens, great time! Recreation area is amazing too! All around, good time! »
