« Beautiful house with a downstairs area to entertain kids with game room and theater area. The drive up the mountain was steep with several switchbacks (more difficult with bigger vehicles and those without 4WD or AWD) but the view was worth the drive. House was clean and stocked with a lot of extras. Would definitely book again »

« 5 stars is not enough to rate our stay at the Fox Den and our gracious host Ron. It’s pretty safe to say we felt at home immediately upon parking our car and heading inside. The Fox Den exceeded our expectations and checked every box and then some that my sweetheart and I were looking for to celebrate our anniversary. « Quaint chalet. Older property with nice updates. Super clean and host was easy to communicate with. Beds were very comfortable. New mattresses, bedding, and pillows. Firm mattresses. We only stayed one night on our way through town so we didn’t get to take advantage of any of the amenities. Quiet neighborhood. The view is gorgeous. Mt Mitchell is nearby. « My family and I came back for another peaceful, quiet getaway. The kids spent most of their time with the goats. There was plenty to do, including the hot tub, bonfires, roasting marshmallows, ping pong, and several indoor games. We enjoyed our stay, and the hosts checked in to make sure everything was fine. »

« Captain's Cabin is charming, welcoming and generously appointed for maximum comfort. Juliana thought of everything! We had a wonderful, relaxing stay--especially while drinking coffee in the mornings, on the screened back porch. The cabin is located in a rural area, so there are roosters crowing and dogs barking. But, I would go again tomorrow if I could! A couple of good restaurants downtown topped off the pleasant weekend. Can't wait for next time. »
