« From start to finish staying at the old manse was a delight . Val welcomed us with a warm and friendly manner.the room was lovely clean and warm with a very good bed Good selection of things for a hot brew And the breakfast was fantastic a real quality full English cooked to perfection and piping hot we also had local kippers delish we cant wait to stay again ps very dog friendly 😋 »

« Had a wonderful stay at a wonderful pub. Location is perfect and character of the pub is amazing. Lovely locally brewed beer and great food. Bad timing on our part that the brewery was closed so couldn't do the tour but gives u great excuse to go back. »

« Delightful rural retreat combining all mod cons with rustic cosy charm. Excellent communication with owner, Maria, who was more than helpful with advice and a great welcome package. The cabin is fully stocked for log fire, strong hot shower, dishwasher and laundry, changes of bedding and towels on our long stay and with a well appointed kitchen. Great location to nip into Pickering for supplies, up on the moors and into Whitby, or around the corner to Dalby Forest. You can even see the NYMR...

« The cottage was exactly as per the listing. We found it convenient for our hiking endeavours, lots of space, great views, well equipped, a great pub in the village, and had no complaints from any of our 4-some. An especially fun addition was overlapping with the owners, David and Emma, who joined us for dinner at the pub the night of our arrival, and, in addition to being charming dinner guests, added to the local info that was already available in the cottage. »
