« It was just me and my son for an overnight stay. I hadn't paid for a sea view room and ended up with a large corner ensuite room with free tea/coffee,(Kettle). When we left the room the door wouldn't lock so went to reception to report it,in the meantime I went to get my car as I'd got a space in the hotel car park (very limited spaces £6.00 for the night).Back at the hotel they gave us another room a sea view with no extra charge. « Chambre exiguë, à se demander si ce n'était pas une chambre de bonne reconvertie (3 m de large sur 4 m de long), eau bouillante pour la douche à 2 reprises (2 matinées de suite) : merci pour les migraines de la journée ! Pas de wifi dans les chambres : nécessité de se rendre dans les salons et à l'accueil situés au rez de chaussée pour se connecter à internet avec smartphone et pc portable. »

« Its not the most stylish or modern of places to stay but it has a lovely feel to it. Staff are honest, i left my ear buds and they handed them in. The building is quirky but i was so relaxed with my kids cos there was nothing to break/damage. I could smoke on the balcony and no one cared. I will stay here again 100% »

« This property is absolutely beautiful with the most stunning views of Robin Hood Bay, The bedroom we had was a little on the tired side but the public areas are stunning and must have been recently renovated. Thankfully we visited whilst there were no weddings on, so we had full access to all areas but be aware that if you are a private individual visiting whilst a wedding is on, your access will be limited so best to double check in advance. »

« We enjoyed a great 5 days at The Sands. The accommodation was spacious enough for the three of us (2 adults and a toddler). The kitchen is well equipped for self catering but there are plenty of restaurants and takeaways within close proximity. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was spotless. « We stayed here during a trip to Thirsk for our friend’s wedding and it was brilliant. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we had everything we needed. It’s located right in the town square so the location was perfect. Would definitely recommend to others! »

« A fantastic hotel in a great location. Easy to find with ample car parking at the rear. Warm welcome at reception and friendly efficient service. Room was immaculate and very well maintained. Great night’s sleep, quiet location and comfortable bed. Breakfast was fab, staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and would happily stay there again. Thank you to all the staff at the Mayfield for a very comfortable stay. »
