« In spite of some very lovely staff, this hotel is in an appalling state and desperately need of a facelift. Water damage on the walls, peeling paint, leaking toilets, a broken shower and windows that haven’t been cleaned in years. The owners need to spend a lot of money on this establishment that must have been spectacular in the past, as neither it or the staff deserve it being left in this state. »

« Chambre exiguë, à se demander si ce n'était pas une chambre de bonne reconvertie (3 m de large sur 4 m de long), eau bouillante pour la douche à 2 reprises (2 matinées de suite) : merci pour les migraines de la journée ! Pas de wifi dans les chambres : nécessité de se rendre dans les salons et à l'accueil situés au rez de chaussée pour se connecter à internet avec smartphone et pc portable. »

« Room was clean and view was excellent overlooking the sea. Breakfast very good and dining room clean, bright and well appointed. Staff were pleasant although reception area not the best as they were sat in a cupboard and you spoke to them through a hatch which wasn't great. »

« The location had lovely views across the bay The room was much smaller than the picture shown and quite basic Bathroom was also basic & dated Toilet had long standing stains right at the.bottom...so room was just ok for an overnight stay »

« I would NOT recommend this ‘hotel’. I actually thought I was squatting in a derelict building. The property has not been well maintained and smells strongly of damp throughout. My bathroom door wouldn’t shut, the tv didn’t work, the WiFi didn’t work and the bed was really uncomfortable. »

« We had no running hot water other than the electric shower. No wardrobe just hangers on hooks. TV was the size of an iPad. Bottom bed sheet too small and forever coming off. Needs to be clearer when it states breakfast included but it is only cereal. Outside seating area not suitable as soiled with seagulls droppings »

« From walking in I loved it. Everything you need. Clean, spacious room, comfy bed, lovely fresh bedding, nice towels, tea/coffee making facilites, tv. Would defo recommend. When I come back to Whitby I will stay here again. Parking just outside. »
