Room was very clean and smelled sanitized; in general that's a plus but I'm sensitive to smells and would have rather had more of a fresh air smell. The bed was comfortable and the shower had enough warm water. Look carefully at the photos because that is exactly what's there. It's a small room with a modern minimalist gray/black vibe, and minimal lighting - only a lamp on the very small table and a lamp on one side of the bed. It was fine for sleeping, but we would have preferred brighter light bulbs and at least another light on the other side of the room for reading in bed and reading labels to use the microwave. The tile floors in the bathroom and the shower were very slippery when wet. It was impossible to wash at the small sink without getting water on the floor, and of course the shower base got wet during a shower, so bring rubber flip flops or something to stay safe in the shower. Although this property is right on the main highway, it was very quiet inside. The location is great - convenient to get to beautiful beaches along Lake Michigan and a 20 minute drive to the Holland Tulip Festival which was why we were there. We have no complaints about communication with the host; we didn't need anything other than the automated messages we received.
