Outstanding stay. The kitchen was perfect for cooking Turkey day dinner for 6. The beds were very comfortable. The house was well stocked with Dishes, pans etc.. The location was beautiful and centrally located between town and Purg ski area. We would def stay here again.

We had a wonderful vacation in Durango staying at this property. We loved the location - gorgeous views, peace and quiet, and lots of space for our teenage kids to run around with the dog. The house was comfortable and had all that we needed. I enjoyed the beautiful kitchen and bathroom. I wish we could have stayed for a month!

This property is wonderful. The setting is perfect, it is clean, well stocked with cooking and bath items and makes for a very restful quite vacation. We have been here twice now and have made reservation for next year. This is truly home away from home.

A perfect place and setting for our dogs and us! It’s such a special place. Wildlife visits, beautifully remodeled home on a beautiful property, quiet and relaxing with all the comforts of home. The master king bed was incredibly comfortable. We were thankful for AC as temps were warmer than expected. Cool nights helped our restfulness. The pictures on VRBO didn’t do justice to the actual setting. We will return!

Such a cute piece of history!

This house was super easy to find, has updated amenities and amazing showers! We loved our stay and were able to hike up the hill that was within walking distance. Turkeys and elk greeted us every morning and evening. Loved it!

Fall Getaway

Visited Durango this past week and enjoyed our time at this cabin. It's close to town but feels like you're in the middle of the mountains. Lots of wildlife each day including elk and turkeys. Great kitchen and outdoor space. Plenty of room for family...definitely a peaceful retreat. Small fenced yard was perfect for dogs. Highly recommend!

Amazing home and views

This home was amazing and we will definitely be staying here again. We loved the updated bathrooms and big kitchen. The views and stream that ran through the yard was so beautiful and our kids enjoyed running around. Their were a lot of dead bugs in the kitchen and their was mice poop in the main bedroom on the bedding and side table.

We were treated every morning and evening to a large group of turkeys making their way to and from roosting! Everyone loved the steam shower!! Convenient location to town or Purgatory. Very comfortable beds and beautiful renovated kitchen.

Awesome location

Off the beaten path but perfect for us with our 4 wheeled drive vehicle in the winter. The house is beautifully remodeled and the bathrooms and kitchen are great. The only comment I would have is less glass size tables in the master bedroom. They just don’t have much space to put glasses and water on. Staff was friendly and the house was very clean. Highly recommend if you like having space.

It is stocked with all the kitchen silverware, utensils, pots pans and dishes one could want. The bedrooms bathrooms and sitting areas are very well done and very clean and neat. The setting is fantastic with places for the dog and a covered outside area to suit all your needs. It is very private, quiet, and secure with a large lawn in the front and back. All of which is perfectly maintained. This is definitely a 5 star vacation home.

Beautiful, clean and centrally located

We loved our stay at the Rock House. The property was absolutely beautiful and had all the necessities needed for our 6 night stay with 4 adults and 2 kids. The owners were super nice and available if needed and kept the walkway clear of snow. The recently renovated kitchen was very clean and stocked with many dishes so we could make our own meals. Bedrooms were very comfortable after a long day of skiing and firewood was provided. We loved watching deer and turkey on the property. The heaters on the patio were a nice extra and put to use. We chose this property because it was convenient to town and Purgatory. It’s clear the owners take a lot of pride in this house and it felt like home. We will be back!

Mice

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and while it’s beautiful and in a great location..it will be our last. In 2020 two dead mice made the place smell terrible until I found them. This stay we saw mice running around the main level the first night, I called the property manager and they were sending someone out but day turned into afternoon then evening so I purchased some traps. We caught six mice in four nights. Every morning I was cleaning poop up. It was gross. I would have gone elsewhere but couldn’t find another place that would take a dog. The management company did give us a 10% refund but for 4,000, I shouldn’t play exterminator.
