« My wife and I stayed for just one night. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff and proprietor were very friendly and helpful. We dined in the evening and breakfasted the following morning. The food was good and service efficient, friendly and courteous. Our room was warm and clean and the bed very comfortable. What more do you need from a hotel? We will definitely stay should we go back to the area. »

« Nous avons eu la chambre N°1 qui est vraiment agréable avec un grand lit confortable. Idéal pour se reposer après une journée de marche. Le soir nous avons diné à l’hôtel en ayant réservé une table. Nous avons attendu 30 minutes avant que quelqu'un prenne notre commande. Et j'ai été déçu par la nourriture, sans doute que je m'attendais à quelque chose d'une plus grand qualité dans ce genre de cadre. En conclusion c'est un lieu vraiment chouette et typique pour séjourné, mais ma mauvaise...

« Really great hotel in a perfect location... Our room was perfect, clean, large & well furnished. Bed, linen & towels all freshly laundered. Evening meal was well presented with lovely fresh local products. The menu and choices were very varied. ( Maybe not too much choice if you dont eat red meat. ) The dining room is well set out and in the summer months would be lovely to be able to sit outside ( we visited January 2026 ) The breakfast menu was equally charming and a difficult decision...

« I attended a weekend conference at this hotel so it was selected for me. The staff were most friendly and my conference was excellent, but the hotel let itself down with ludicrous prices for food and beverages -- and my room had a ceiling of enormous cobwebs (see photo). One glass of red wine and a pint of beer was 13 pounds. The restaurant was full on the evening I arrived so I had to eat in the bar. My salad had 4 lettuce leaves and did not come with a dressing (see photo). The kitchen...

Plenty of local pubs and restaurants close by for food as well as supermarkets to grab snacks for the house. We went to Gulliver’s kingdom 20 mins away and Alton towers 1 hour away across our 2 days stay which were both easily accessible. There is a wide range of sizes of cottage and homes to choose from all of which looked amazing. »
