I spent two weeks in "la grotte", an apartment for 2 people at "Pyrenees Mon Amour ", in March 2018 and it was blissful.
I had everything I needed in the apartment and the owner, Fabienne, was friendly and helpful. She helped me with my luggage and had lots of suggestions for places to visit.
Though there are 4 holiday homes ,plus Fabienne's home, adjoining each other I felt that I had completely privacy. The apartments face in different directions, the entrances are not adjacent so I had the impression that the wonderful view was just for me!
Felluns is a tiny village with no shops but a grocery van stopped in the village square, just around the corner, most days. It was useful for the days I didn't want to tear myself away from that view and it was nice to have the chance to say bonjour to my neighbours. I got most of my shopping at whichever supermarket I happened to pass on my excursions out and about.
Even in March there is plenty to see . There are suggestions for walks in the info pack in the apartment and there are lots of dramatic castles, pretty villages and vineyards round.
I enjoyed especially delicious, good value lunches at the Auberge in Sournia; le Patio in Villefranche de Conflent; la France in Ceret and Au Remparts in Elne.
There is a very good museum of modern art in Ceret (Picasso!) and the museum of Prehistory in Belesta had a very well presented display of Neolithic exhibits and a really interesting temporary exhibition about Charles Rennie Mackintosh's time in Rousillon.
The apartment was imaginatively designed and very comfortable and I would certainly recommend it to my friends. Thank you Fabienne .
