This place was a blast! If you’re looking for a relaxing cabin escape where the kids can actually be kids, this is the spot. We brought two families of four (four kids under 7 total), and the setup was a total win.The kids basically took over the upstairs loft and the bunk bed room, which was perfect—it felt like their own secret clubhouse and actually gave the adults some breathing room. The floor-to-ceiling windows are amazing; there’s nothing like sitting there with a coffee and watching the woods wake up.The house itself has that authentic, rugged wood decor that makes you feel miles away from everything. We spent our evenings roasting marshmallows at the fire pit and having cookouts while the kids explored the acre of land.A few highlights from the road:Long Tom’s Pond: Just down the street. The drive there on the dirt road is half the fun, and the fishing is great when they stock the pond.Woods Canyon Lake: An easy trip, about 18 minutes away with canoes to rent in the summerBear Canyon Lake: A scenic 23 mile drive and worth every minute. It was the perfect mix of outdoor adventure and pure relaxation. If you need to unplug and get the family back into nature, you won't find a better home base. We're already counting down until we can head back.
