Time to unwind and relax? Spend some time at ROAMING ELK LODGE!! Our secluded log cabin is a true escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

The cabin is located at an altitude of 9,500 feet in the gated community of Forbes Park nestled in the Sangre Cristo Mountains, in historic San Luis Valley/ South Colorado. Forbes Park is characterized by alpine meadows, aspen, spruces, pines, some ponds and creeks. Miles and miles of unpaved roads offer plenty of opportunity for hiking.

The park is teeming with wildlife. The cabin is a short walk from the Big Lake. At the end of the day, take a stroll to the lake where elk and deer gather to drink. You may even encounter a black bear or a mountain lion. Hunting is not allowed in Forbes Park; however, it is permitted in neighboring San Isabel National Forest (permit needed). Far away from city lights, you will have an amazing view of countless stars. Just bundle up under a blanket and enjoy the view from the deck.

The cabin (1600 sq. ft.) has recently been remodeled and it is yours to enjoy. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, with all the needed appliances. Three spacious bedrooms (two queen beds and two twin beds). Two and a half bathrooms, of which one with a large whirlpool tub.
