This property can be accurately described as “ ANIMAL HOUSE” AFTER the party. House isin significant disrepair, safety cannot be secured due to broken door handle with lock, toilet seats disconnected from its the base causing one person to fall, missing items such as a carafe for the coffee pot, concerned with gas smell in the kitchen, no working carbon monoxide detectors, unknown smoke and fire detection,slippery floors where teens easily slipped and fell with wet feet from the pool, no rugs in entry ways for that purpose, and more. The heated pool and the game room were functional and hits with the teenagers but required oversight for safety. Bring your own toilet paper and paper towels for a stay for more than a day or two depending on the size of the party as there is a minimal supply provided. Price was way too high for this decaying home. This was not an easy turn key experience which I usually have with VRBO’s. This property may be attractive to frat boys… Many of them to afford the cost of the rental. I am not submitting a photo as there would need to be too many to show the breath of the problems with his home.

Place is in a state of disarray and should not be rented until repairs are made. Air conditioning is not functioning in the party room, heat on hot tub does not work, most chairs around the pool are broken, we had to buy toilet paper and paper towels, pots and pans in cabinets had not been washed and lights all over the house were out to include overhead lights in the kitchen.

Amazing place for a celebration w/different people

This place is extremely impressive and was clearly made for parties. We stayed 4 nights for a 50th birthday with a mix of 12-14 friends, relatives and kids. The main house is very nice, clean, and air conditioned, and was perfect to allow kids and people wanting to go to bed earlier to get a great nights sleep and be happy. Meanwhile, the people who wanted to party all night could be in the party house having a great old time and not disturb those other folks at all. The party house is appropriately named and is just not as clean as the main house which is very nice. The party house has amazing facilities for playing games watching movies, and hanging out - it’s just not nice the same way the main house is and I think that is why some other people have left not such great reviews a few times. If you just focus on the fact that it’s pretty amazing that you have a whole separate house here that people can drink and be noisy while not bothering your guests who want to sleep in the main house I think you will understand why we really didn’t care at all that the party house was not as neat as the main one. Then we get to the pool. The pool is amazing. It would be nice if the overflow water in the grotto was a true hot tub, but there is one of those in the bathroom of the master bedroom if you really want that. The pool is huge and really fun with swim up bar area and for the daring a very high platform to jump into the deep end. The neighborhood is just so so but fine.

We were excited to return for a family reunion after a great stay here two years ago. The size and layout of the home were perfect for hosting a large group under one roof. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that the property is being properly maintained, and our experience this time was disappointing.Despite reaching out beforehand and being assured everything was in working order, we arrived to find many issues. A cracked window from two years ago was still unrepaired. Most light bulbs were burnt out, including the kitchen lights, and several outlets didn’t work. When we contacted the owner, the only advice was to “try every switch,” which we had already done.Nearly every chair, inside and out, was broken or unstable. The A/C in the second house failed daily, with indoor temperatures reaching 92F. The pool area was beautiful but had loose or missing tiles. The hot tub, though advertised, didn’t work at all. Plumbing throughout the house was hit or miss. We made the best of it, playing games by flashlight and enjoying our time together, but for the price we paid, this was unacceptable. The property owners were easy to work with at booking and leading up to stay. We alerted them to some of the broken or damaged items and they did respond to our concerns with apologies but no real solutions. The property has great potential, but it’s clear it hasn’t been kept up. We won’t be returning.

Buyer BEWARE!!!

The pictures on the VRBO & Redfin are old. Prior to our stay, I had multiple exchanges with JJ, the owner. Two weeks prior to our stay, I read over past reviews and noticed that on January 6, 2023, Allie V wrote a review listing multiple problems. I asked if those issues had been addressed. He said that he was going to have a handyman come out, but that didn't happen. There wasn't hot water the entire weekend in the main part of the house and no water at all in the other section of the home. I requested that a plumber come out on Sunday morning. He said that with it being a Sunday, there was no way that he would be able to get a plumber to come out. On of the men staying with us found the shut off valve and when he went to turn it on, water was coming out of a crack in the pipe. The pipes must have froze in the winter and they were not repaired. The listing said that there were 5 bathrooms. We thought that was great considering we had 16 people there. The two bathrooms in the "FUN" part of the house were out of order. Both were completely disgusting. When you had to get from one section of the house to the other, you have to walk through the master bedroom. Other issues: 2 refrigerators in kitchen, only one working, outdoor screens on porch torn or missing and bird poop all over, the sink behind the bar in party room isn’t connected to anything and water went to the floor. Find another house to stay in if you can.

Good spot for weekend with large group!

From the beginning, I was really impressed with the easy communication with the property manager. They responded very quickly when we communicated some issues upon arriving. This house was perfect for what we needed it for, 16 friends wanting to hang out for NYE. However, the house definitely had a run down feel. Many of the lights did not turn on, including one bedroom that did not have any working lights and multiple light fixtures in the kitchen that only had a few working bulbs. The dishes had also not been cleaned from the previous guests and some of the bath towels had noticeable marks and stains on them (the property manager did send over new towels when we asked). The game room was a lot of fun to spend time in, however when we checked in we were notified that both bathrooms in the game room were not working. The only other bathrooms were in the main house and you had to walk through a non-screened in porch to get there. With 16 people having to walk back and forth in the cold, this was definitely not ideal. A positive note is that the beds were very comfortable in each room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but wish that the house was maintained a little bit more.

Really cool property! The house could use some TLC, just certain odds and ends that didn’t work or were damaged. But really had a great time, and the hosts always got back to me. This is the perfect house for a big party. Thank you for having us.

Very disappointing!!!

We rented the property because of description of the space, the pool, and in large part because they were rated super host. Unfortunately, although owners took our calls none of the issues below were resolved nor did they provide a refund for their inability to provide the rental property as described. Major Issues The two refrigerators in the kitchen did not work and a full repair was not available until after our trip (parts needed to be replaced). The pool, two issues here - 1.) The pool maintenance people showed up UNANNOUNCED and without warning in the backyard - no respect for privacy and no heads up from the owners either. 2.) The pool was unavailable for 24 hours because it had to be shocked which means maintenance was not up to date Kitchen items not enough for the size of guests. Key appliances were unusable (blender, Keurig,) Upstairs bathtub had standing pool of water, sink is constantly leaking 2nd Washer/dryer did not work Master Bedroom box spring broken, bed is caving in, nails are poking out of the frame, locks on the patio doors do not work Some TV’s did not have power cords or remotes Outdoor Grill unusable, burners were rusted out, flame was inconsistent/concentrated Semi-indoor cooking space near the pool area was filthy & unusable Ceramic tiles coming off in pool (safety hazard) right on the steps into pool Pool table pockets are torn billiard balls fall to the floor every time

Overall the experience was great, the owner of this property was very responsive and nice to recommend a few local spots. The property is fantastic, but could use a bit more TLC. Ex not all the lights worked, outside was messy & the pool was not full. When you pay a lot of $ you expect everything to be as advertised. Other than that the weekend was great.

So much fun!

JJ was such an incredible and responsive host. The place was so much fun--the outdoor area and pool are so great. Pictures don't do it justice. The inside was clean and perfect for the group we had. The bar area was a fun surprise. Would recommend to any family and friend groups looking for a great time.

Beautiful home with amazing pool and convenient location

I stayed her with a group of my siblings and friends, and our stay here was wonderful! We certainly plan to come back again! The photos don’t do the pool and grotto hot tub justice - it was very unique and has a waterfall effect you can turn on as well as a diving board. The party room was huge and a great place to hang out. It is only an hour drive from Chicago and feels like a mini oasis away from the city. I highly recommend staying here!

Fantastic Stay

This property is better than advertised, it was exactly what we were hoping for. Pool area is awesome, all of the teenage boys LOVED the clubhouse, plenty of space to host. Communication with JJ was awesome. Would book again in a heartbeat and will have more stays there.

Large Place for Bachelor Party

Had a bachelor party here for a large group and it had plenty of space (more than expected) and a great pool area and game room area. Everyone said they had a great time and would come back. One issue came up during the trip which couldn't be fixed during our time there, but the property manager was very responsive in helping us with the issue and we liked how they handled the issue. I would recommend this place for a large group for a trip away or for a bachelor party.
