I arrived at the vacation house I booked, and I was extremely disappointed with its condition. Within minutes of entering, I discovered multiple serious issues that make the property unsafe and unfit for my stay, including:•Missing cabinet doors in the kitchen•Black mold in the living room coming from a hole in the exterior wall•Blinds that are either covered in heavy dust or black mold•A deck with dangerously loose boards and railing (boards shifted under my feet as soon as I stepped outside)I was not comfortable continuing to inspect the home further, as it is clearly a liability and poses safety and health risks. After traveling a long distance and paying for early check-in, I expected a clean, safe, and ready-to-enjoy property. This property is hazardous and uninhabitable due to black mold

NIGHTMARE AND FILTH AT 610 FORT VELASCO DR.

Not one picture from the listing matches the actual house. There is siding missing and glass windows missing with plastic in place. It was dangerous for adults never mind the 3-year-old with us. Spiral staircase was not secured properly and the top step onto the deck the railing was broken and swinging free and the next step off that staircase and its 3 stories down to the ground. All the nails on the decking were sticking out also nails sticking out of cabinets in the kitchen and other rooms No doors on some of the kitchen cabinets, the shelves in the kitchen were 3 boards laying on the supports not secured not connected to each other just dangerous . An entire siding board on the ground missing and anything can get into the house. AC was not present whatsoever. Cleaning crew was there until 4:40 that was 40 minutes we lost. What did they clean it was dirty and moldy. The living room was not the same one in the listing pictures, it was smaller a wall was added to make another bedroom, and that room was filthy also the furniture was different than the picture and much older and dirty. The laundry room was terrifying and outside basically. Also, the sundries on the bed were very old and worn. We have pictures and videos of the entire place. Keep in mind we had a 3-year-old and an 80-year-old with health issues. We did not stay in this property the house was falling apart looked nothing like the online pictures!! It was reported to VRBO that day and the property manager we left the site and drove 3 hours back home. I am still waiting for a refund. As I looked back at this listing the reviews down on the site are horrible and they are saying the same thing about the property I deal with VRBO all the time when I go somewhere and I can’t believe you still allow this property to be listed on your site!!!!

This home needs to be demolished.

Nothing is as pictured, there is a horrible smell throughout the home, there is black mold BLACK MOLD!!! The house is literally destroyed the kitchen is an awful mess. Whoever the clean crew was didn’t do anything I’m talking nothin. There were dirty towels in the bathrooms for the previous guests.This place was disgusting, I can’t even put in word how bad it is. And don’t even get me started on the outside. The entire deck is a safety hazard, rails degraded and broken, messed up ac, me and my family couldn’t stay there AT ALL. So for anyone looking at this for the price JUST STAY IN A HOTEL. THIS PROPERTY IS A HAZARD!!!!!

The house is older is in need of updating. The couches had an odor to them. The blind in the living room would not go down. I am no mold inspector but the blinds were questionable. Check-in was easy, but the house was not ready until 5:30 p.m. The cleaners showed up but could not get in because there key did not work and used the one we had. Then house cleaner forgot a room and had to come back telling me that was her first time cleaning this home and did not know there was another room. We put things aside and just enjoyed our time with our cousins that traveled 5 hours away for our annual reunion at the beach.The house is older is in need of updating. The couches had an odor to them. The blind in the living room would not go down. I am no mold inspector but the blinds were questionable. Kids played at beach every day, came back hung out in the bunk room which was a nice size, beds were rough but hey it was for the weekend. The king and queen beds were really comfy. When I woke up the last morning with all the towels washed the floor was wet. After flushing the toilet I noticed it leaking. I reported it the morning I was leaving. Can not be qualified for rent

Whole home need to be remodeled or fixed interior & exterior, pretty old kitchen with cabinet door under sink was fell, AC was not cool enough and was getting hot (maybe not maintenance for long times) water was dropped off from the vents of whole house. One of a bathroom was leaking and pretty bad smell, can't be used, one room have 3 bunk beds with wooden slats was missing and mattress fell, can't be lying for sleep, one of bunk bed was making squeaky noise every times my kid moved. Honestly my family trip got a night-mare with this rental, i think this house can't be qualified for rent. Only thing for my family feel ok is location close to surfside beach.

The WORST house in SURFSIDE

This house first off looks abandoned so my we drove right past it. The property is NOTHING as described. The photos show the home in great shape a year or so back.( I’ve tried to upload photos but oddly, there’s an error) we contacted Beach Box immediately regarding the state of the rental. There were dead flies and dirt in the blankets and pee stains on the sheets. Dirt all over the floors. Doors that didn’t shut due to door frames that weren’t properly installed. Blinds in the livingroom that weren’t up & when we put them up, they didn’t work so we always had windows open with no privacy. Cabinets were broken, wood for under the dishwasher was broken and put by trash can. A little cabinet door was 95% off with nails sticking out. Bathrooms- The towel holder was broken & just hanging there. Looked like someone threw toilet paper on the wall in the shower and it just stuck there. The property is described as having two rooms and the master having a restroom in it… wrong. There’s two hallway restrooms, one on each end of the house. They built a tiny room by closing in part of the livingroom & threw a window unit in it.. doesn’t cool. Bedroom lights only work if you have the lights on in the living room being it was originally part of the living room. Maintenance never came out, they only want to give me a 95 refund. You flush toilet and it pours down wall under house by electrical box and BBQ pit! There’s so much more. They know the conditions but lie to rent it. It’s a trap!

When you flush, the toilet water flows down the wall next to electrical box. Beach Box didn’t care.

Broken cabinet the main cabinet was completely off the hinges.

When we arrived I thought we were at the wrong property until I verified it on my gps the outside of the home is horrible Half of my group refused to stay and they left for a hotel the unlock code did not work so i had to call several times until someone answered my call to give us the correct code then the kitchen cabinets are falling apart the toilet in the main restroom leaks everytime that you flush their was no remote for the tv I want a refund

This house apparently had hurricane damage and the mold and dust was awful! We finally got moved to another house after complaining about it for a week. We were told that we would have a new house on Friday and weren’t able to move until Saturday afternoon. We stayed in 3 beach houses managed by them and each one was dirty.

Good price but dirty house

It was good for are needs for fishing, the only thing that could be better was how to get local channels on the TV as an older person I not familiar with the setup you have. If you could have a person set it up prior would be great. I missed the baseball games!

Worst VRBO experience in 10 years

We arrived at the property and were concerned that there were boards and exposed nails from roofing work around the property. We were concerned but entered the place anyway. The place had not been cleaned. The floors were dirty (bugs), the beds had not been made, the linens were dirty, the former renter's trash was still in the trash cans, and there was dog hair on the bed. We immediately informed the homeowner of the situation. They apologized but did nothing. We left and returned 3.5 hours later, and the house had still not been cleaned. Informed the owner again, who offered apologies and a $95 refund. Money was not the issue; we wanted the home cleaned. Finally, 4 hours after we checked in, a cleaning crew arrived. She discovered a bedspread with about a round 10" stain that looked like dried blood, on one of the bedspreads. That pushed us past our limit. This place was clearly not sanitary! I informed the owner that this and their meaningless apologies were unacceptable. We packed up, and I had to find a hotel room in Houston at 10-11ish. We unpacked and stayed in the hotel for the trip. We've used VRBO for ten years, and I've never left a bad review. These people should not be allowed to ruin people's vacations on VRBO. It was the worst experience we've ever had with VRBO.

You get what you pay for

I booked this house off Vrbo for a quick turn around trip. It’s a definitely get what you pay for house. The house looks nothing like the pictures on the listing. When you arrive it looks as though the house is going to fall apart. Check-in was very easy however, once entering the house the side door was cracked open. Foundation is awful and the back door was very hard to close and lock. There was dead roaches on kitchen floor and live ones crawling out of a coffee pot that you couldn’t even get open. There were food crumbs left on the counter tops and the dishes were dirty. There was trash all under the beds and on the floor in one of the bed rooms. Smaller bathroom looked as though it had not been cleaned from a previous stay. The bedding smelled like molded corn chips. The towels were white and looked very dirty, we just piled them on one bed. After pulling the covers on all the beds. We ended running to the Dollar Store and getting stuff to clean the room with the 3 bunk beds really good and all ended up sleeping in there. The light in the laundry room didn’t work and there was no ceiling in there as well. Dryer doesn’t work well at all. We had brought stuff to cook but after seeing the kitchen, we decided we would just go grab stuff to grill. After seeing the grill we changed on mind on that also. We needed eating out the whole time and staying gone majority of the time. Only positive thing the A/C works really well. I do not recommend this house at ALL!
