My wife and I had our 3 adult children with wives & our 5 grandkids join us for our first-time Gatlinburg-adventure.
The home was in perfect condition: beautiful, spotless, and welcoming. We enjoyed all of the gathering areas over our 5-day stay. The first floor living room was perfect for visiting while warming by the fireplace. It was great having the large table for meals; all of us could eat together, too.
The hot tub on the lower level was enjoyed by the adults after the kids were put in bed. Having a TV to watch the Monday night game while in the hot tub was a big plus.
Speaking of the kids in bed, the room with the bunk beds worked great for the older children while the two youngest, almost 3 and 1-year old shared another bedroom. We brought a pack-n-play and the bedroom was of generous size, allowing that to be put up with ease.
We played some pool and shuffle board in the evening, too.
One note, we were visited by bears and they know how to open the car doors! So, be sure to lock your car doors. Now having said that, the bears were very gentle with our cars once inside. In one car, there was nothing for them to snack on while in the other, they gracefully picked up snacks and actually waited to eat them outside the car.
The drive to the house involves steep, windy roads. If there is snow or ice, that would be challenging. But that also affords beautiful views from the ample balconies.
We will definitely return if and when we decide to travel to the area again.
