The property was considerably more dated and worn than the listing photographs suggested, creating a misleading first impression upon arrival.More concerning, however, was a significant safety issue involving the private hot tub located in the primary bedroom. Upon arrival, the water temperature registered only 82F. As my daughter and I checked the water temperature by placing our hands in the tub, we both immediately experienced an electrical shock.We reported the incident to the front desk without delay. While I understand that staffing levels may be reduced on weekends, I was extremely concerned by the lack of an appropriate response. No one was sent to inspect the hot tub, de-energize the equipment, assess the potential hazard, or check on our well-being. The only guidance provided was to call 911 if we began experiencing symptoms.The following day, a contractor inspected the hot tub and advised that the installation did not appear to comply with National Electrical Code requirements. According to the contractor, the unit lacked essential safety features, including GFCI protection and an emergency disconnect. He further stated that he was unwilling to replace the failed component because the overall installation was not up to code.Mountain Side ultimately provided a 100 refund for the incident and our inability to use the hot tub. Given the seriousness of an electrical shock hazard, this compensation was inadequate and did not address the underlying safety issue
