„Overall good hotel right at the water. We had a room without sea view, quiet with parking directly in front of the room. Bed was super comfy, however the room could've had a little more thought put into it. There were no electrical outlets next to the bed, plus the switch for the night stand lights could not be reached when lying in bed. The windows could not be closed, so we had bugs inside. „It’s a run down bach! The pictures look great but unfortunately the accommodation is not! Not only the garden needs to take care of. The bathroom especially the shower is moldy. The top of the fridge was super sticky. It might be a good backpacking accommodation but not the one we expected looking at the pics.
We decided not to stay there and left the place. Beside that the bbq was very dirty and looked broken.

„Beach cottage (also called Orowaru cottage) is a gem. We had a great week there. I can particularly recommend sitting on the front verandah watching the tide roll in and out. Deeply peaceful. And well appointed for your every need. We used the cottage as a base to explore the Hokianga and Whangape Harbours. So many marae, so many early churches, friendly locals wherever we went. I came home with a lovely handmade rug from the Kohukohu Village Arts. The little Kohukohu library is another gem.“

„We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Log house! We were surprised it managed to sleep all 12 of us in the whare. The views were amazing, the nature, cows and sheep you could see from the balcony. Host had provided us with heaps of towels, extra blankets and an extra couch for my big family. Would suggest taking a car good for gravel and stone roads as it's like that all the way to the house but it's soo worth it! Communication with the host has made this trip so much easier! would go again. “
