The home is one of the original ranch homes from the Whetstone ranch. Come enjoy the peace and serenity of country living. We are located 15 minutes from Sierra Vista, Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns, and Sonoita. Come experience the southwest in this unique piece of southern Arizona history.

The Agave House had the three things we really look for in a VRBO: Clean, Quiet, and Convenient. The house was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. The house is very close to Kartchner Caverns. Tombstone and Bisbee are easy drives as well (15 - 30 min). Huachuca City doesn't have a lot much in the way of services, buy Sierra Vista (about 15 - 20 min away) has everything.

This house was perfect for our group. We had 8 teenagers and there was plenty to keep them busy. Everything was clean and easy to find. We had no complaints.

Hidden gem

Stayed one night in this place with two families (4 adults 8 children) and it worked great for our trip to see Kartchner Caverns. Plenty of sleeping space and amenities. Hard to find options for our group size in the area.

Great location for our families Kartchner Caverns trip! The boys loved all the toys in the bunk room, and outdoor yard to play in (wear your shoes outside there are some pocky weeds mixed in with the grass). The house had everything we needed plenty of trash bags and tolite paper, the only thing we couldn't find was paper towels.

Lots of sleeping space, lots of small steps/inclines

There were lots of beds (and pull-out beds and futons). There were also lots of small steps or inclines as you went from one room to another (living room to kitchen, kitchen to hallway, within the hallway, etc.).

The back yard was well kept and the kids loved it. The grass was healthy, there were many trees of all types/sizes and the play equipment with two slides and three swings was a hit.However, when comparing this house to my previous luxury rentals, this house did not match up. And to be fair this house was not advertised as a luxury rental.The floor levels were slightly different seemingly for each room, even the hallway had a slight ramp. Luckily we were all able to recover from our stumbles when we missed the step.The dinner table had 4 seats with 3 seats at a breakfast bar next to it. The padio table outside the sliding glass door from the dinner table had 6 cushioned seats. So with an odd seating arrangement, a large group can sort of eat together.There were many books, games, toys for all ages.There were 2 ceiling fans, one in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. The family room, the kids bedroom and the master bed did not have a fan, so the first night was sweltering. The second night we bought 2 box fans at Walmart in Sierra Vista. And we realized the thermostat automatically increased the temperature to 71F, so keeping the thermostat at 66F along with the fans helped keep the second night pleasant.The second bed in the master bedroom was a couch bed. It had good foam so it was not too painful.There were plenty of towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, and cooking and eating supplies.

Lovely Home, Broken Fridge

We enjoyed staying at this home. It was quiet and had plenty of space. The fridge was broken and did not keep our groceries cold. We had to throw out food to avoid risk of foodborne illness. I communicated with the host and they said that sometimes happens, we could unplug the fridge and defrost it, but that might flood the room. I was very disappointed in the response or lack of effort to fix it during our stay.

Wonderful

We visited this property on a family trip to Kartchner Cavern and Tombstone. The location couldn’t have been more convenient to explore the area! One thing that wasn’t mentioned in the listing at the time we booked is that, with it being an older home sporting many additions, there were a LOT of flooring height changes all over the home. Every threshold of the doorway included a slope or stair - maybe 11 or 12 different heights? Our 84-year-old mother, our 11-year-old son, and myself all fell/tripped at some point during the stay due to not seeing one of these flooring height changes, so we feel this is worth mentioning so future travelers can be mentally prepared. The house was comfortable and well-stocked with all we needed to prepare meals. The property manager was very responsive and happy to fulfill our request for paper towels. Overall this was a charming house with a few quirks, which is perfect for such a historic and character-filled place.
