We enjoyed our experience at the Wild Dunes Resort. As a family of 5, we opted to rent a house on VRBO rather than stay at the hotels on property. Based on previous reviews, I knew this house was a bit outdated but I wasn't too bothered. We were there to enjoy the pool and beach, not sit inside. Positives: The location is great, steps away from the pool and beach, a short walk to the restaurants, pickleball courts, etc... There was plenty of room for us, comfortable beds, and everyone appreciated their own bathroom. Communication with property management company was very easy.Negatives: The place needs some TLC or a handyman/woman to fix a few things. The exterior lights by the main entrance were out so we had to use our phone flashlights to see the keypad at night. One of the toilets wasn't flushing properly, shower heads were leaking. There were dings in the walls, night table drawers that wouldn't close, curtains that were broken, etc.. A broken rusted chair was left on the deck and a shed downstairs had discarded items thrown about. Did these factors ruin our stay? No, of course not. But we made the property manager aware so that they are hopefully addressed for future renters. We would definitely return to Wild Dunes - Isle of Palms but would stay in a different house next time. *One thing to note. The key card used to access the pool wasn't needed, (or at least no one asked us for it). However, it doesn't allow you to get pool towels so be sure to bring them.
