Magnificent ocean views from the balcony & living room...this was the only good thing about the property. Aside from fresh linen on the beds & clean bathrooms, the remainder of the house was filthy. The kitchen floor was disgustingly dirty. The fridge, kitchen skirts, outside of cupboards, some wall spaces & sink had to be wiped clean. The house was full of cobwebs, particularly in the bedrooms. The carpets & hardwood floors throughout the house were unvacummed. Huge amounts of bugs in internal window ledges & surrounds that needed to be cleaned. Gaps in front double doors that let cockroaches in at night. A permanent & strong foul smell in the stairwell, that travelled throughout the house. We (4 adults) spent 2 hours on arrival (Christmas Day, host office had closed) personally cleaning it, in order to feel comfortable. The cutlery in the drawer was dirty. The trays in the oven were also dirty. The pantry was junky, dirty & had fresh food items stored. The fridge had a huge amount of owner items left behind that needed to be removed. Owner personal items scattered around on floor - ironing board, clothes rack, sewing machine, multiple old vaccums, yoga mats, camping chairs, dirty pillows & power drill. There was an old lawn mower & ancient exercise bike against the back door under the pergola. The outdoor spa area was unkempt & the spa hut was falling apart. The stairs to the back decking were rotting. The front decking balustrade was not secure or to VBA standard.
