We had a 9-night stay booked, but our trip coincided with one of the worst storms Maui has experienced in years, causing severe flooding. Local authorities advised avoiding non-essential travel, and we made the decision not to risk flying our small children into those conditions.We were not asking for a refund—we simply requested to reschedule our stay, even up to a year later. Both the property owner and VRBO refused.There was zero flexibility or consideration given the circumstances. As a result, we lost nearly 8,000.What’s most disappointing is the complete lack of customer support from the property management company and owner of unit. No solutions were offered, and no effort was made to work with us.This experience showed a clear lack of empathy and customer care. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere when booking.
