What began as a beautiful stay turned dark very quickly.
We awoke on the last morning of a 7 night stay to voices of a few men and noise/fumes of a backhoe digging a ditch in the adjacent yard.
The inconvenience of the noise, not having use of the back space, having to keep the rear door shut, and having our beautiful view obstructed by large machinery and the noxious fumes…let alone the safety issue of having an open ditch a mere few steps from the back door...certainly not part of the bargain.
Maybe getting early notice wasn’t possible, but having to pivot our plans so quickly on the last day of our stay was a major hassle.
Additionally, my daughter informed me Saturday morning that her carpet was wet on both sides of the double bed (and likely underneath the entire thing)...lo and behold, we saw two tiny mushrooms sprouting against the wall. She couldn't stay in that room as the fungus emitted an unpleasant odor.
It's very likely the moisture in that first floor bedroom is directly related to whatever issue the digging was addressing.
Haven't had much success communicating with the property managers at Estates at Turtle Bay...they're directing me to the folks I booked with...Red Awning/VRBO. Unfortunate.
