The location was perfect. Loved to house. Very clean. Beds were super comfortable!! Everything we needed. One suggestion. There is a side window in the master bedroom and very sheer curtains. People left lights on house next door all night plus when they drive in late at night light shown in the window all night making it hard to sleep. Could use a blind like on other windows. The wood stove kept us toast roasty. We had one when we lived there. Didnt really mind no TV. Would definitely stay there again !!

Property is gorgeous, comfortable, and in nature. There were deer on the front lawn and we even saw beers passing by behind. Amazing! We were there through some bad weather and the house was cosy and warm - and prepped for our comfort on arrival which made all the difference.We spent a day hiking in Minnewaska Nature Park which was beautiful and just down the road.

As described-- great location

This is a small house, well-suited for a couple or two, or for a family where sharing double beds is acceptable. The house is comfortable, but not at all luxurious. The décor is a hodge-podge and there is some unfinished wood trim in the bathroom. The beds are exceptionally comfortable-- slept very well. The little battery-powered candles are atmospheric and abundance of USB charged ports appreciated. There are several other properties very close by-- it's not at all isolated, but we heard nothing from any neighbors and rarely even saw another human being. Road noise from the nearby highway is noticeable from the front porch and detracts from a true sense of natural isolation. The kitchen is adequately, but not generously appointed (only three bowls) and the propane-range is significantly under-powered. OK, but not great if you are planning to cook meals. Coffee and tea are generously provided. The owner and their help communicate well and are responsive. It's a perfect location for exploring the 'Gunks-- just a few minutes drive to Minnewaska.

Great Gunks Getaway

Nice place for a weekend getaway in the Gunks area. Very close to Minnewaska, not far from Mohonk and New Paltz too. In a very nice, quiet spot off the main road. House was clean and served all our needs for the weekend. There's no TV but that wasn't really an issue for us. Owner was very good with communication and provided very detailed info on the house/property. Would stay again!

A gem of a surprise

Adorable, comfortable, beautifully appointed & clean as a whistle. Perfect location to hike Minnewaska & explore area & come back & have a nice fire in the wood stove. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Holiday in the Gunks

Great spot just five minutes from an entrance to the Minnewaska State Park Preserve. Easy access to restaurants/breweries nearby in Accord and High Falls. Extremely comfy bed with super soft linens and thoughtful touches throughout. Loved how well stocked the kitchen was for cooking (just be aware the stove isn't amazing if you have super ambitious cooking plans, but great for anything basic). Super cozy wood-burning stove in the living room, and great renovated bathroom with a wonderful shower and nice bath products. I had been nervous about reviews about the sulfurous water but it wasn't an issue at all. Only thing that wasn't as expected was the fireplace pictured in the bedroom is decorative. This is listed in the house guide after booking but I don't remember it being flagged on the listing. In any case, the living room fireplace kept things toasty, and there's also central heat/AC. Would highly recommend!

Very Nice

The house and everything inside are as described and well located to Minnewaska and lots of other trail systems that were fun to explore. Serg and Aaron are incredibly responsive (I don't think I waited three minutes to get responses to questions). We would not hesitate to book again. The bed was super comfortable, so much so, I asked where he got the frame (Serg made it). The water was nice and hot, and the pressure was great. If I had to make a suggestion to future travelers it would be to bring camp chairs for hanging out outside. The chairs provided are okay, but camp chairs would be more comfy.

Would give 10 stars if I could

Don't think twice about booking this house or any property of this host. Serg (and Aaron) were unfailingly communicative, both proactively and responsively. The property was not only as advertised, but more. Fully stocked kitchen to cook anything you want. Plenty of ice waiting for you in the freezer. Excellent coffee and tea provided. Soap and shampoo to go with abundant hot water and good water pressure. House was immaculate--neat, clean, welcoming. And there were even multiport USB charging hubs in every room--a nice touch in our digital age. Wifi was excellent. This house is the quintessential peaceful getaway in the woods, a stone's throw from great trails at Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, and more. Perhaps most importantly, Serge and Aaron were a pleasure to work with, communicative, easy going, real class acts. I won't hesitate to rent this property again, or any property they manage. Just book it!

Zen Getaway Steps from Lake Minnewaska

We had an amazing stay here. The place was thoughtfully organized and artfully decorated. It was a peaceful and relaxing place to rest after days hiking and swimming in the sun. The hosts provided everything we needed. Better than staying in a hotel! Excellent!

Beautiful and peaceful

My sister and I stayed for three nights at the Dream House. The house was very clean, quiet, and tastefully decorated. The screened-in porch was a favorite spot for hours on end. Hiking is very close by and New Paltz has lots of restaurants and shops, if you want to do that. Highly recommend.

Comfortable Stay Near Quality Outdoor Activities

Our stay at the Dream House in the Gunks did not disappoint! We were very comfortable and cozy in this well kept home, with everything needed for rest and relaxation. The best feature is the nearby parks and nature preserves with such beautiful trails and outside activities. We hiked 15 miles in 3 gorgeous days, with the Mountain Laurel in full bloom. Communication with the host was excellent, with quick responses and helpful information. We relaxed and enjoyed every minute!
