I have been seeing A Frames since they first appeared in the 1960s and always wanted to stay in one. I love the endless number of odd angles the style presents, as you walk through the near exclusively wood interior with angled ceilings and quirky rooms.Great place to spend the winter if you're an avid skier. We spent a month here in Jan-Feb 2025. I managed to ski 6 mountains, 24 days, 360 miles of skiing. It's 10 minutes to the Mountain House base at Keystone, 25 minutes to the gondola lot at Breckenridge, 30 minutes to Copper Mountain, an hour to Ski Cooper (less crowded on the weekends), and an hour to Beaver Creek and Vale. For a change of pace, you can get to Sunshine Mountain in 90 minutes and do a morning of skiing with the locals and an afternoon of soaking in the hot springs and spa for 100. Yes, you can spend 40k for a slopeside condo at Beaver Creek for a month, but if you don't have that kind of money, or don't want to blow that much on a winter vacation, this place is great. Hot tub in the back is a perpetual 105 degrees, and is wonderful after a day of skiing.
I almost donât want to leave a review because I donât want anyone else to book so I can keep coming back! Great little A frame cabin, very clean, everything works (donât believe the few ridiculous reviews everything works great). Only downside was no outdoor fire due to ban (not owners fault) but the listing did say fire pit outdoors. Besides that we were very comfortable, and will be coming back as we ski breck and keystone often.
This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family of 5 to get away into the mountains for Thanksgiving. We have 3 teenage boys and they all had there own beds to sleep in and their own bathroom upstairs while my husband and I had ours downstairs.
We packed all of our own cooking supplies planning on making a big dinner for Thanksgiving but was surprised to find it had already been completely stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, seasonings, baking ingredients and more. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking our meals in the kitchen everyday.
The hot tub was a huge bonus for us and one of the main reasons I booked our stay here. We spent many mornings and evenings in the hot tub and it was heated and ready to use each time with beautiful views.
When looking for a place to stay I was very unfamiliar of the area and what place was best to stay for a family who didn't want to be around a lot of touristy crowds but close enough to the slopes to ski if we wanted to. This was hands down the perfect location for that. Centrally loacted within 4 different towns. Many hiking trails around Lake Dillon we enjoyed. It was a quite and quaint neighborhood with 2 places to eat and a coffee shop at the entrance. Which had incredible pizza and food.
The temperatures were very cold durring our stay and lots of snow. The cabin was very well heated and the roads and driveway were always plowed.
We can't wait to stay here again and I highly recommend making memories here!
Really enjoyed our stay! At first we didn't realize it was in a neighborhood butreally all the things availanle nearby made it worth it. Trails, Lake, restaurants, grocery store. They had games to play which was nice too. Thank you for helping us enjoy our first time to aco
We absolutely had the best time this weekend! The A frame cabin is so homey and decorated beautifully. We loved the hot tub and the bed slept really good (which is really important on vacation).
We loved our little getaway at the A-frame! The space is cute and comfortable, and we loved the hot tub. I was so thrilled to find an abundance of cooking supplies so we could actually cook! My only regret is that I forgot about the heated bathroom floors, which is such a luxury! And Virginia did a wonderful job of providing advice about things to explore in town right on her Vrbo page. Big thanks to such a wonderful host!
Great stay! The location was perfect. The neighborhood was really quiet and pretty. Close proximity to Breck, Dillon, Frisco & Silverthorne. Lots of hiking in the area!
The house itself is cute but thatâs where the praise stops. The are signs of neglect as many basic safety features are not in compliance. There was no hot water the entire time and definitely not anywhere hot enough to kill germs. The kitchen sink didnât work at all and described by the owner as a trickle when it was incapable of turning off without shutting off the water at the pipes. The property owner is going to respond that I need to remember that itâs her home but she lives in Kansas City and has clearly not been there for a long time.
Essentially down the street from Keystone and Breckenridge. Shuttle too far away, but that was okay. Driveway was cleared for our arrival.
Didn't have the opportunity to use the hot tub or grill, but nice-to-have's.
Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and clean-up.
Gas fireplace/stove really kept the living/kitchen space warm.
Appreciated the small heater in the main-floor bathroom.
Nice touch with all of the blankets and pillows in the living room. Just the right amount of sitting and eating space for a family of five.
Beds were comfortable and appreciated their sizes.
Thanks for the 'extra' touch of the dog bowls. Foyer area was perfect for going in/out and leaving boots. Nice too to have the little deck for going in/out.
Small strip center at entrance: main pizza store was great, brew pub at end was nice, and grabbed a coffee and breakfast sandwich on the way home - tasty. This location is very busy, which is a good thing, but realize parking could be challenging.
Hoping the price will remain similar as we hope to return to this A-frame home, as it was lovely and again, you cannot beat the location for local skiing. Blessings to the family.
charming A frame, standalone house, with great location. Well stocked and supplied for our monthly ski season visit. outdoor hot tub was a plus Host very responsive
I wish I could say I had a decent experience, but after the host blatantly accused me of breaking a table and refused to give details or pics I'm forced to share what she's really like.
- My first impression was walking up to the front door and not being able to open it with the electronic lock. When I called the host she said to "jiggle it the right way" and "just figure it out". Then the door sticks so bad it only opens half way.
- Blinds are completely see-through. Yes, the bathrooms too.
- Stove markings are all scratched off so you don't know which burner you're using or how high.
- One of the windows was stuck open, letting cold air in (in January). She accused me of breaking this too. Why would I try to open a window in January???
- Lots of crumbs and pet hair in couch cushions
- Probably the greatest problem was the staircase hand rail is extremely loose, so loose that I told my kids to not even touch it. If you slipped on the stairs and grabbed the rail it would probably break off and you'd fall through. I can see where several "attempts" were made at repairing with extra screws and shims, very poor job.
I'm a residential real estate investor by profession, so these are issues I see on a daily basis and I also know they aren't just "quirks and idiosyncrasies of the home" (as she's said in other reviews). They can be fixed easily by a qualified person.
She's going to respond to this review and say that it's all false, but message me on VRBO, I have the pictures
We spent five days skiing at Keystone and loved coming home to this cozy A-frame. Only 10 minutes from the slopes, well stocked, and comfortable for our family of four and our dog.
Owner was very responsive and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!
We loved the property! It was perfect for us. Clean and rustic. I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this one was the best equipped. Great location and quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed coming âhomeâ to it at the end of our exploring every day. Would absolutely stay again.
Great property for a mountain getaway with family. The heating was a little confusing but we figured it out. Also, the front door sticks. May sure you pull towards you when you input the code, otherwise it wont unlock. Other than that, great place!
Our little family stayed for five days this August. Very family friendly! Loved seeing the KC decor, reminded us of home! Provided dog teather was very nice to have, and we used it throughout the stay. The hiking trail behind the house is so nice to have for a short walk after dinner. The tub and downstairs bathroom is huge. Upstairs bedrooms and bathroom were clean and functional. The stairs are a bit creaky, but our toddler loved going up and down the stairs anyway! Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates, cutlery, utensils, staple pantry, and appliances. The hammock and huge front deck was our favorite part. We spent many afternoons playing and relaxing there. Would absolutely stay here again!
The house was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view from the front porch. The neighborhood was quiet and not far from several towns. Perfect location to relax after a day full of activities.
This home is very quaint. One bedroom downstairs with a full bath and the other two are upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped with all the tools, pans, and spices you will need during your stay.
The tub is such a treat! We also enjoyed our time in the hot tub viewing the stars.
The location is so close to Frisco and Breckinridge.
