My sister and brother in law stayed in this unit during our family vacation. It was clean and well appointed. Compared to other units, the kitchen didnât have as many dishes, but was definitely adequate.
Being close to a beach that had a lifeguard was great! Good swimming and snorkeling was a top priority, and Kamaole 2 had both.
The management company was helpful and easy to work with. We hope that the unit might upgrade to a keyless entry before our next visit.
We all enjoyed our stay, and are looking forward to staying at Kamaole Sands again in the near future! Mahalo!
We love the Kamaole Sands units/location to the beach, however, this unit was not up to our standar
We had 4 adults, as this unit listed. This unit's roll out bed matress was not in good shape and made sleeping very uncomfortable. The extras in this unit was very sparse, only 2 towels per bathroom, and only one set of beach towels was provided. The unit had a musty smell, and 3 of the four people in our group had bad sinus congestion every night. The sliding glass door lock was broken, and the clock batteries were dead. The kitchen drawer handle was broken, and the inside of the medicine cabinets were rusty/musty and unuseable. The unit is in desperate need of an overhaul. There were no utensils for bbqing and only 2 steak knives. We have stayed at other Kamaole sands units, and have always been impressed with how well they were stocked and generally kept up.
Needs AC and kitchen needs renovating but description was not misleading. Carpeted floors are not a good idea close to the beach. The dressers, a common KS design, are probably original and should be replaced as falling apart in both units. We changed to a refreshed condo!
Kamaole Sands over all was a pretty nice resort for families (it was packed with kids there) but the unit we stayed in, was a big disappointment. Everything was old. The unit needed new paint, new carpet, and a new mattress in the bedroom. The refrigerator froze everything, the toaster almost started a fire the first and only time I tried to use it, and the coffee maker didn't automatically shut off so if you forgot to turn it off you could potentially start a fire that way. It said "partial ocean view." In order to get this partial view you have to stand way to the left side of the balcony. Every time I did go on the balcony it seemed some other guest was out on theirs and they were right at my elbow. I would have liked to say which unit it was (it was on the 3rd floor, in the building farthest from the lobby) because I'm sure other units are really nice. But since they won't let me say all I can say is beware about booking at this place. We still had a good time without mishaps but I don't recommend this unit unless you get a really really good deal on it and you are only looking for a place to sleep for a short time.
