Perfect Location

Our room was ready for check-in 2 hours earlier than expected, which we were notified by text as we waited by the pool. So convenient! This is our 3rd time staying at Honua Kai resort. This ground floor room is the PERFECT location- steps to the pool, beach and lobby! Also a large grass areas right outside the lanai which is great for kids and families to run around and play on. The kitchen was clean and had all the necessary utensils, dishes and cookware. The washing machine needs minor repair, but works fine nonetheless. Despite the scary tsunami warning/evacuation and nearby wild fire during our 12 days, we very much enjoyed our stay! Mahalo!

Wonderful ground unit for family of four

The unit location was great for easy access to and from the beach/pool. Not having to take the elevator was a big convenience for us. Unit was clean and as advertised. They had two beach chairs and a cooler. Management was prompt when we asked for an additional blanket for the pull out couch. The only plus would have been if boogie boards were included so we didn’t have to rent them.

Great location. Simple accommodations.

Location was close to all 5 pools, hot tubs, towel closets, & Duke's restaurant. Quiet. Spacious bathroom. Convenient for connecting with family. Loved the large circle walkway for evening walks. Also close to beach boardwalk that goes for miles. Beach walks were also close by. Walking distance to Times Market & food wagons. 5 min drive to Farmer's Market org. store to the north and 10 min drive to Lahaina center.

Great property, location and accommodations.

Everything was great and as advertised. The check in through the valet was very simple and quick. They were very professional. We loved the ground floor walk out unit and convenience to the pools and beach. Our only complaint was the sofa was stained and looked dirty. It needed a good cleaning or simply to be replaced.

Loved the ground floor!

Being on the ground floor greatly enhanced our stay. The pools were fantastic and having Duke's on property was huge (still craving the poke tacos & hula pie) but having our own little yard was the best.

Terrific Spot! Highly recommend!

This was a great 1 bedroom condo for our family! My husband and I brought out two little ones (5) and (almost 2). The ground floor level was perfect access to the pools, Ordering takeout from Dukes (7 mins round trip) and a short walk to the beach. I was slightly nervous about being close to a walkway but it was not bad at all. The bushes and plants provided enough privacy and the resort is well secured. Maui resort rentals provided a pack n play (upon request) beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and a cooler. Which was perfect for our group and we used for the pool and beach. The unit has a washer and dryer which came in handy. It would add a little extra convenience if the unit had more bath towels ( comes with 4) but that is an extra ask. The resort has beach/pool towels you check Out with wristbands. There are a few towel spots around the resort. This made it really easy to exchange towels as needed. The pull out couch was great for our 5 year old. Not comfy for an adult though. We will book here again.

Great property and clean unit

Overall the resort is a great place for families with lots of great amenities. The unit itself was clean, spacious and had all what we needed. The host was responsive and they follow up multiple times to make sure we are not missing anything. Location of the unit is convenient specially for kids if they are coming wet from the pool. Unit is close to the main pools and beach . Only thing which is a reasonable compromise is that the unit is next to the entry door which means the patio isnt as private but to be honest this will be the same for all ground floor unites. For us this was ok because we did spend most of the time outside in the pool and beaches and only used the patio at dinner time. If I have a recommendation for the host it would be to work with the resort for a smoother checkin process since there was a confusion on the check in time with the front desk. The hosted fixed it as soon as I called to be fair

Perfect experience from arrival to departure

LOVED - LOVED - LOVED the location of this room right on the ground floor so close to the main lobby and quick walk to the pools and restaurant. The accommodations were perfect for our 7 yr old son and 6 yr old daughter who shared the queen pull out sofa bed in the front room. We were able to put them to sleep and close the door and enjoy each other’s company and TV without waking our kiddos up. Loved the kitchen - great for our kids to have cereal and make coffee, ice box was great for drinks and medicines. We used the washer and drier a lot! Loved the convince to do clothes and towels. That alone was worth it! Our little guys can’t seem to go a day without going through 2 pairs of clothes! Loved the bathroom! So big! Great shower pressure and loved the space and that there were two doors so the kids didn’t have to go through our bedroom in the middle of the night. The outdoor garden area and table was great! We enjoyed a couple of carry out meals outside. Super relaxing and enjoyable. Loved that the resort have pool towels that could be auto distributed and dropped off. Also I love the cabana rentals they were perfect! There’s so much more I can go on about how do you not have the space. The staff are SOOO nice! Perfect location and experience for our family! We’ll be back!

Happy little getaway

We stayed at Honua Kai H144 in late June 2021 and had a wonderful experience. We were a family of 4 (2 teens). The room was as stated and facilities were expansive even in covid times. Loved being on the ground floor with easy access to the pool, store, and beach with no wait for the elevator. The two things that would have made the trip “easier”: this unit didn’t have a can opener (that we could find) so we got creative with opening cans, and the unit only had 4 bath towels (no beach towels) so we bought some beach towels and made sure to hand bath towels to minimize washing laundry. Yes, we could have used towels from the pool but those were sometimes a challenge to find AND had a fee if a towel wasn’t returned so we chose not to create that worry and nagging with the teens. Overall this gets a 5 star from our family and we can’t wait to visit again soon!
