The Space:

Inspired by the relaxed interiors of Ibiza, Mykonos and Marrakech, Kassita pairs clean-lined architecture with natural textures and inviting spaces. Soft plaster walls, white oak cabinetry, brass accents and oversized woven pendants create a warm, understated atmosphere. Expansive glass doors open the central living spaces to the covered terrace, bringing the outdoors into everyday moments, whether you're preparing dinner, enjoying a quiet afternoon or gathering with friends.



The home's thoughtful layout offers a balance of connection and personal space, with generous communal areas, intimate bedrooms and multiple places to retreat. Across five acres of open desert, Joshua trees, sculptural boulders and distant mountains provide a striking backdrop without competing with the home's simplicity.

Kassita's outdoor spaces feel like an extension of the home, with the saltwater pool at the center of an expansive terrace overlooking the desert. Four loungers line the pool's edge, while the surrounding Joshua trees, natural boulders and distant mountain ridges give the setting its distinctly Landers character.



Just steps from the water, the covered outdoor living room offers a beautiful alternative to the midday sun. Deep upholstered seating surrounds a sculptural propane fireplace beneath a warm wood ceiling, with overhead heaters extending the comfort into cooler evenings. An adjacent dining area and propane BBQ make outdoor meals especially appealing, with the kitchen conveniently connected through wide sliding glass doors.



As daylight fades, the in-ground hot tub offers a place to unwind while the landscape changes color. Nearby, a sunken propane fire pit with built-in seating creates a more intimate gathering spot, set apart from the main terrace but still connected to the pool and house.



The property encompasses five acres of open desert, with neighboring homes visible in the distance. The landscape is largely natural, allowing the architecture and surrounding scenery to share the spotlight.

A large smart TV, integrated Sonos speakers and a turntable provide entertainment, while expansive windows frame the desert beyond.



Warm, earthy furnishings soften the home's minimalist architecture, making this a room equally suited to conversation, an afternoon of reading or a quiet night by the fire. Books and games offer a few more ways to enjoy an evening indoors.

The kitchen is designed to be part of the gathering rather than separate from it. White oak cabinetry, pale countertops, brass fixtures and oversized woven pendants bring warmth to the streamlined space, while a long central island provides plenty of room for preparing meals and keeping the conversation going.



The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, cookware and dining essentials, along with a dedicated coffee station featuring locally roasted Joshua Tree Coffee Co. coffee.



Just beyond the island, the indoor dining area combines built-in seating with upholstered chairs for relaxed meals together. Large sliding doors connect directly to the shaded outdoor dining terrace and BBQ, making it easy to move between the kitchen, table and poolside throughout the day.

Kassita features three thoughtfully designed bedrooms and three bathrooms, accommodating up to eight guests with additional sleeping arrangements.



The primary suite is a calming retreat with a king bed, woven pendant lighting and a spacious plaster built-in closet. Its ensuite bathroom features a freestanding soaking tub beside the window, a generous walk-in shower and a double vanity. A private patio with an outdoor shower open to the sky adds another way to enjoy the desert surroundings.



The second bedroom offers a king bed, warm neutral furnishings and its own private patio with an outdoor shower. It also has direct access to the hallway bathroom, providing a convenient arrangement while maintaining separation from the other bedrooms.



The third bedroom features a queen bed, sliding glass doors overlooking the pool and Joshua trees, and a private ensuite bathroom. Its connection to the outdoor landscape brings natural light and a sense of openness into the room.



Throughout the bathrooms, plaster built-ins and brass fixtures continue the home's Mediterranean-inspired design.



For additional sleeping flexibility, a queen air floor mattress can be set up in the main living room. The converted-garage cinema room also has a plush couch. Please note that the cinema room's glass garage door does not have curtains or blinds, although eye masks are provided for guests using this space to sleep.

For evenings when everyone wants to settle in, the converted garage provides a dedicated space for movies and lounging. An oversized plush sofa, richly textured Moroccan rug and large smart TV give the room a comfortable, relaxed character distinct from the main living area.



A glass garage door connects the room visually to the outdoors, maintaining the home's open architectural feel. The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



The Neighborhood:

The Kassita is in Landers, a beautiful but very remote area about 20 minutes from the nearest grocery store. All homes here are on acreage, giving guests wide open space and privacy. The last 0.2 miles to the home are dirt roads.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Please note that Kassita is in a remote location, and the final stretch to the home is on dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.
